Özet
Bu tez, bedeni iktidar, norm, sosyo-kültürel yapı ve tarihsellik ekseninde kurulan çok katmanlı bir yapı olarak ele alarak, çağdaş bedenin modern iktidar biçimleriyle kurduğu ilişkiyi queer performans bağlamında çözümler. Bu kapsamda, oyunculuk sanatını normatif temsillere direnebilecek bir alan olarak düşünerek queer performansın oyunculuk sanatına getirebileceği bedensel, estetik ve politik olanakları inceler. Çalışmanın temel amacı, eril tahakkümün beden üzerindeki inşasını görünür kılmak ve queer performansın bu tahakküme karşı sunduğu estetik ve politik direniş ihtimallerini ortaya koymaktır. Bu tez, normatif bedenin tarihsel, sosyo-kültürel ve mekânsal inşasının hangi tahakküm yapılarıyla gerçekleştirildiği sorusundan yola çıkarak bedenin politik konumunu araştırır. Toplumsal ve normatif beden algısı içerisinde yaşanan temsil krizinin queer kuramının tartışmalarına zemin hazırlayan alt yapısını hatırlatarak queer kuramının geliştirdiği bedensel itiraz biçimlerinin, performans sanatı bağlamında, bedene açtığı yeni ufukları inceler. Kamusal alanda konumlanan queer bedenin maruz kaldığı tehdidi riskleriye birlikte ortaya koyarak tanıklıklar üzerinden performatif direnişin doğasını anlamaya çalışır. Titanlar isimli oyunun sahnelemesini analiz ederek queer düşüncenin yeni biçimsel ve duyumsal sahneleme araçlarına dair örnekleri ortaya koyar. Sonuç olarak, bu tez, queerin hem sanatta hem politikada dönüştürücü ve ilerici bir düşünme/eyleme biçimi olabileceğini ileri sürer. Çağdaş performans sanatı alanında queer düşünceyle yola çıkılmasının, sanattaki ve toplumdaki tahakküm biçimlerini görünür kılarak, performatif bedeni devrimci bir özneye dönüştürebileceğine dair bir öneri getirir.

This thesis approaches the body as a multilayered structure built around the axes of power, normativity, socio-cultural structures, and historicity, and analyzes the relationship the contemporary body establishes with modern forms of power within the context of queer performance. In this scope, it examines the bodily, aesthetic, and political possibilities that queer performance may offer to the art of acting by conceptualizing acting as a field capable of resisting normative representations. The primary aim of the study is to make visible the construction of the body under masculine domination and to articulate the aesthetic and political possibilities of resistance that queer performance offers against this domination. Starting from the question of which structures of domination enable the historical, socio-cultural, and spatial construction of the normative body, the thesis investigates the political positioning of the body. By recalling the representational crisis within the social and normative perception of the body, which constitutes the very infrastructure grounding the debates of queer theory, the study explores how the bodily forms of dissent developed by queer theory open new horizons for the body in the context of performance art. By revealing the threats and risks to which the queer body is exposed in public space, the study seeks to understand the nature of performative resistance through personal testimonies. It further analyzes the staging of the play Titanlar, offering examples of the new formal and affective staging strategies enabled by queer thought. Ultimately, this thesis argues that queer can function as a transformative and progressive mode of thinking and acting in both art and politics. It proposes that approaching contemporary performance art through queer thought can expose mechanisms of domination in art and society, thereby enabling the performative body to emerge as a revolutionary subject.
