Özet

Bu tez, Friedrich Hayek'in bilgi ve toplum teorisini sistematik bir çerçevede inceleyerek, onun çağdaş sosyal bilimler üzerindeki kuramsal etkilerini değerlendirmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Hayek'in özellikle The Use of Knowledge in Society (1945) ve The Constitution of Liberty (1960) adlı eserlerinde ortaya koyduğu bilgi-toplum ilişkisine dair yaklaşımı, hem ekonomik koordinasyon sorununu hem de toplumsal düzenin kendiliğinden oluşumunu açıklayan özgün bir kuramsal perspektif sunmaktadır. Bu çalışma, Hayek'in bilgi teorisini yalnızca ekonomik bir problem olarak değil, aynı zamanda toplumsal düzenin epistemolojik temellerini belirleyen geniş kapsamlı bir kuram olarak ele almaktadır. Bu doğrultuda tez, öncelikle Hayek'in bilginin dağınıklığı, yerelliği ve öznel niteliklerine ilişkin argümanlarını çözümlemekte; ardından bu bilgi anlayışının toplum teorisi, kurumların evrimi ve piyasa düzeni üzerindeki kuramsal sonuçlarını tartışmaktadır. Metodolojik açıdan çalışma, metin-merkezli kuramsal analiz ve kavramsal çözümleme yöntemleri kullanarak Hayek'in düşünsel bütünlüğünü ortaya koymayı hedeflemektedir. Bu yöntemsel tercih, Hayek'in bilgi kuramı ile toplum kuramı arasındaki içsel tutarlılığı ve karşılıklı belirleyiciliği görünür kılmayı mümkün kılmaktadır. Çalışma, aynı zamanda Hayek'in bilgi ve toplum teorisinin 21. yüzyılın merkeziyetçilik, teknokrasi, sosyal düzen, ekonomik koordinasyon ve dijital çağda bilgi yönetimi gibi güncel tartışmalarla ilişkisini yeniden değerlendirmekte ve kuramsal sürekliliğini vurgulamaktadır. Bu yönüyle çalışma, Hayek düşüncesinin çağdaş sosyopolitik meseleleri anlamadaki açıklayıcılığına işaret etmektedir.

This thesis aims to evaluate Friedrich Hayek's theoretical influence on contemporary social sciences by examining his theory of knowledge and society within a systematic framework. Hayek's approach to the relationship between knowledge and society, articulated particularly in The Use of Knowledge in Society (1945) and The Constitution of Liberty (1960), offers an original theoretical perspective that explains both the problem of economic coordination and the spontaneous formation of social order. This study approaches Hayek's theory of knowledge not merely as an economic problem, but as a comprehensive theory that addresses the epistemological foundations of social order. In this regard, the thesis first analyzes Hayek's arguments concerning the dispersed, local, and subjective nature of knowledge; it then discusses the theoretical implications of this conception of knowledge for social theory, the evolution of institutions, and the market order. Methodologically, the study aims to reveal the intellectual coherence of Hayek's thought by employing text-centered theoretical analysis and conceptual examination. This methodological preference makes it possible to render visible the internal consistency and mutual determinacy between Hayek's theory of knowledge and his theory of society. The study also re-evaluates the relationship between Hayek's theory of knowledge and society and contemporary debates of the 21st century—such as centralization, technocracy, social order, economic coordination, and knowledge management in the digital age—and emphasizes its theoretical continuity. In this respect, the study points to the explanatory power of Hayek's thought in understanding contemporary sociopolitical issues.
