Özet
Tez çalışmasında, Derrida'nın dostluk düşüncesini, kendisinden önceki felsefe tarihini değerlendirerek ve dostluk adına olan söylemleri yapıbozuma uğratarak nasıl yeniden inşa ettiği ele alınmıştır. İlk bölümde, Platon'un dostluğu anlatırken hangi kavramları kullandığı açıklanmış, dostluğun ne olduğu ve kiminle dost olunması gerektiğine dair yaptığı Sokratik incelemeler aktarılmıştır. Erdem temelli bir zemine oturan dostluk anlayışını devam ettiren Aristoteles'in, dostluk türlerini ayırma şekli ve erdemli kişilerin dost olmasıyla ulaşılan topluluk düşüncesi üzerinde durulmuştur. Ardından klasik felsefeden modern felsefeye geçiş yapılarak Kant'ın saygı ve sevgi çerçevesinde kurduğu dostluk bağı üzerinde durulmuştur. Daha sonra Nietzsche ile riskli, sınanan ve gerilim alanı olan bir dostluğa bakılmıştır. Bu bölümde Derrida'nın Dostluğun Politikası adlı eserinde değerlendirdiği filozoflara yer verilmektedir. Derrida'nın eleştirileri ve etkilenimlerine göre filozofların belirlenimleri aktarılmış olup Derrida'nın dostluk anlayışı çerçevelenerek sunulmuştur. Derrida'nın dostluk adına ayrıntılı çözümlemeleri çalışmanın ikinci bölümüne bırakılmıştır. Çalışmanın ikinci bölümünde, dostluğun dilsel temeline bakılarak mevcudiyet düşüncesiyle kurulan karşıtlıklar değerlendirilmiş olup Batı metafiziğine eleştirel bakış getirilmiştir. Yapıbozumla yeniden ele alınan, farkın ve ertelemenin yer aldığı temelde ötekinin nasıl kurulduğu incelenmiştir. Bu incelenme sırasında Derrida'nın, ben-öteki arasındaki ilişkiyi kurarken etkilendiği Levinas'a geri dönüş yapılarak, Derrida'nın hangi düşünceyi yapıbozuma uğrattığı ele alınmıştır. Yapıbozuma uğrayan ilişki biçiminde ötekiyle dostluğun kurulmasının mümkün olup olmadığı tartışılarak kimlerle dost olunabileceğine dair araştırılmalara dalınmıştır. Ardından Derrida'nın, dostluğun politik alanda kendisini gösterme şekli olan konukseverliğinden bahsedilmiştir. Konukseverliğin içinde yer alan düşmanlığa eğilerek, Derrida'nın Schmitt'in dost-düşman ikiliğine yaklaşımına bakılmıştır. Bu çalışma, Derrida'nın dostluk anlayışının, imkânsızlığın aşılmasıyla kurulan bir bağ olarak değil; imkansızlıkla ilişkide kalması gereken bir bağ olarak görülmesinin yolunu açmaktadır.

This thesis examines how Derrida reconstructs the concept of friendship by engaging with the history of philosophy prior to him and by deconstructing discourses articulated in the name of friendship. In the first chapter, the concepts Plato employs in his account of friendship are explicated, and his Socratic inquiries into what friendship is and with whom one ought to be friends are presented. Subsequently, attention is given to Aristotle's friendship theory, which continues this virtue-based framework, focusing on his classification of types of friendship and his conception of community achieved through the friendship of virtuous individuals. The discussion then moves from classical philosophy to modern philosophy, examining Kant's understanding of friendship as grounded in respect and love. This is followed by an analysis of Nietzsche's notion of friendship as risky, tested, and marked by tension. This chapter includes the philosophers addressed by Derrida in The Politics of Friendship. The determinations of these philosophers are presented in light of Derrida's critiques and influences, and are framed within Derrida's own conception of friendship. Derrida's detailed analyses of friendship are reserved for the second chapter of the study. In the second chapter, the linguistic foundation of friendship is examined, and the oppositions established through the notion of presence are evaluated, offering a critical perspective on Western metaphysics. Through deconstruction, the constitution of the other on the basis of difference and deferral is analyzed. In the course of this analysis, a return is made to Levinas—who influenced Derrida's account of the relationship between the self and the other—in order to examine which aspects of Levinas's thought Derrida subjects to deconstruction. By questioning whether friendship with the other is possible within a deconstructed relational framework, inquiries are pursued concerning with whom one can be friends. The chapter then turns to Derrida's notion of hospitality as the manifestation of friendship in the political sphere. By attending to the hostility inherent within hospitality, Derrida's engagement with Schmitt's friend–enemy distinction is examined. This study opens the way to understanding Derrida's conception of friendship not as a bond established through the overcoming of impossibility, but rather as a bond that must remain in relation to impossibility itself.
