Özet
Bu çalışma, Ilias'ta yer alan tek casusluk anlatısı olan Doloneia'yı, sahihlik tartışmaları, casusluk ve pusu temaları ile Rhesos anlatısının mitsel ve dinî arka planı çerçevesinde incelemektedir. İlk bölümde, Doloneia'nın sahihliği etrafında şekillenen filolojik tartışmalar ele alınmış; antik kaynaklar, modern araştırmalar, materyal kültüre ilişkin veriler ve dil özellikleri değerlendirilerek metnin Ilias içerisindeki konumu tartışılmıştır. İkinci bölümde, Doloneia'nın merkezinde yer alan casusluk teması incelenmiş; casusluğun tarihsel arka planı ve anlatı içerisindeki işlevi değerlendirilmiştir. Üçüncü bölümde pusu teması ve“pusu poetikası”üzerinde durulmuş; Homeros destanlarındaki kahramanlık anlayışı, aristeia ve lokhos kavramları ele alınmıştır. Dördüncü bölümde, Rhesos ve temsil ettiği mitsel arka plan üzerinde durulmuştur. Rhesos'un anlatı içerisindeki yeri, Thrakia kökeni, olağanüstü atları, ölümüne dair anlatılar ve bunların dinî ve sembolik çağrışımları antik kaynaklar ışığında değerlendirilmiştir. Ayrıca Thrakia dinî gelenekleri, Orpheus kültü, kahraman kültleri, katabasis motifi ve öte dünya tasavvuruyla kurduğu bağlantılar ele alınmıştır. Sonuç olarak, Doloneia'ya dair özgünlük tartışmalarının bölümün tematik özelliklerinden bağımsız olarak ele alınamayacağı ortaya konmuştur. Casusluk ve pusu anlatının hareket noktasını oluştururken, Rhesos anlatısı bölüme mitsel bir derinlik kazandırmaktadır. Bu çerçevede Doloneia, sahihlik meselesinin yanı sıra epik anlatının kuruluşu, kahramanlık anlayışının farklı görünümleri ve mitsel geleneğin şiir içerisindeki işlevini incelemeye imkân veren bir metin olarak değerlendirilmiştir.

This study examines the Doloneia, the only spy narrative in the Iliad, in the context of debates concerning its authenticity, the themes of espionage and ambush, and the mythic and religious background of the Rhesus episode. The first chapter discusses the philological debates surrounding the authenticity of the Doloneia. To this end, ancient testimonia, modern scholarship, material-cultural evidence, and linguistic features specific to the episode are analysed in order to assess its place within the Iliad.vThe second chapter focuses on the theme of espionage, examining its historical background and function within the narrative. The third chapter is devoted to the theme of ambush and the concept of the“poetics of ambush”, through which Homeric conceptions of heroism, as well as the notions of aristeia and lokhos, are explored. The fourth chapter considers Rhesus and the mythic background associated with his figure. Drawing upon ancient sources, it examines Rhesus' role within the narrative, his Thracian origins, his extraordinary horses, the traditions surrounding his death, and the religious and symbolic associations connected with these traditions. It also explores the connections between Rhesus and Thracian religious traditions, the cult of Orpheus, hero cults, the motif of katabasis, and conceptions of the underworld. In conclusion, debates concerning the authenticity of the Doloneia cannot be separated from the thematic features of the episode itself. Whilst espionage and ambush constitute the narrative's central axis, the story of Rhesus endows the episode with a distinct mythic dimension. From this perspective, the Doloneia may be understood not only in relation to questions of authenticity, but also as a text that offers insight into the construction of epic narrative, different manifestations of heroism, and the function of mythic tradition within Homeric poetry.
