Özet
Bu tezin yazılma amacı, 2008 yılında yazarlık kariyerine başlayan ve Türk polisiye edebiyatına“Başkomiser Galip”karakterini kazandıran Çağatay Yaşmut'un romanlarını polisiye kurgu açısından incelemektir. Yazarın yapıtları hakkında, bu konuda herhangi bir akademik çalışma bulunmaması nedeniyle literatürdeki boşluğu doldurmak hedeflenmiştir. Çalışmada yedi roman, yakın okuma yöntemiyle analiz edilmiştir. Tez üç ana bölümden oluşmaktadır. İlk bölümde, tezin anlaşılabilirliğini arttırmak amacıyla polisiye edebiyatın Batı'daki ve Türk edebiyatındaki tarihsel gelişimi, türleri ve temel kurgu unsurları hakkında genel bilgi verilmiştir. İkinci bölümde Çağatay Yaşmut'un hayatı ve edebî kişiliği ele alınmış, tezin asıl odak noktasını oluşturan üçüncü bölümde ise yazarın romanları polisiye kurgu bağlamında detaylı olarak incelenmiştir. Yaşmut; eserlerinde polisiye kurgunun temel unsurları olan gizemli suç, suçlu ve dedektif figürlerine yer vermiştir. Romanlar genellikle sonuçtan nedene doğru bir yapı izlemekte olup, suç unsuru hikâyenin başında okuyucuya sunulmaktadır. Suçlar arasında cinayet başta olmak üzere tecavüz, darp, rüşvet, sahte kimlik ve organize suçlar yer almaktadır. Yazar; iş kazaları, kentsel dönüşüm ve kadın cinayetleri gibi toplumsal sorunlara dikkat çekerek polisiye türe eleştirel ve toplumsal bir boyut kazandırmıştır. Romanlarda olaylar, Cinayet Büro Amiri Başkomiser Galip etrafında şekillenir. Suçun işlenmesinin ardından ilk aşamada olay yeri inceleme bulguları ve görgü tanıklarının ifadeleriyle kurbanın yakın çevresi şüpheli listesini oluşturur. İpuçları, olay örgüsüne mantıklı ve açıklanabilir bir şekilde yerleştirilmiştir. Gerilim ve merak unsurunu sağlayabilmek amacıyla, polisiye eserlerde kullanılan edebî teknikler başarıyla kullanılmıştır. Yazar, katili genellikle en az şüphe duyulan kişiler arasından seçerek okuyucuyu ters köşe yapmayı amaçlamıştır. Suçlular; tesadüf veya ani itiraflarla değil, soruşturmada ipuçlarının sistematik olarak takip edilmesiyle yakalanmaktadır. Sonuç olarak bu çalışma, Çağatay Yaşmut'un Türk polisiye edebiyatına yeni bir soluk getirdiğini ve kara roman (noir) geleneğinin ülkemizdeki başarılı temsilcilerinden biri olduğunu ortaya koymaktadır.

The purpose of this thesis is to examine the novels of Cagatay Yasmut, who began his writing career in 2008 and introduced the character“Chief Inspector Galip”to Turkish crime fiction, from the perspective of crime fiction structure. Since there is no existing academic study on the author's works in this field, the aim is to fill a gap in the literature. In this study, seven novels were analyzed using the close reading method. The thesis consists of three main chapters. In the first chapter, general information is provided on the historical development of crime fiction in the West and in Turkish literature, its subgenres, and its basic structural elements in order to enhance the comprehensibility of the thesis. In the second chapter, Cagatay Yasmut's life and literary personality are discussed. The third chapter, which forms the main focus of the thesis, examines the author's novels in detail within the context of crime fiction structure. Yasmut incorporates the core elements of crime fiction—mysterious crime, the criminal, and the detective figure—into his works. The novels generally follow a structure that proceeds from effect to cause, with the crime element presented to the reader at the beginning of the story. The crimes include murder as the primary offense, along with rape, robbery, assault, bribery, identity fraud, and organized crime. By drawing attention to social issues such as workplace accidents, urban transformation, and femicides, the author adds a critical and social dimension to the crime fiction genre. The events in the novels revolve around Chief Inspector Galip, Head of the Homicide Bureau. Following the commission of the crime, the initial stage involves crime scene investigation findings and witness statements, which form a list of suspects from the victim's close circle. Clues are placed within the plot in a logical and explainable manner. Literary techniques commonly used in crime fiction are successfully employed to create tension and suspense. The author aims to surprise the reader by usually selecting the killer from among the least suspected individuals. The criminals are apprehended not through coincidence or sudden confessions, but through the systematic pursuit of clues during the investigation. In conclusion, this study demonstrates that Cagatay Yasmut has brought a fresh breath to Turkish crime fiction and is one of the successful representatives of the noir tradition in our country.
