Özet (Çeviri)

ABSTRACT Akçay basin is located at the Southwest of Turkey in Eeagean Region and in the boundaries of Denizli, Aydın and Muğla. The most important river of the 4.120 km2 area is Akçay which is 157 kilometers long. The important streams are, Yenidere Brook, Mortuma Brook, Sarhoş brook, Kocaçay, Doğan Brook and Varalh brook. Mediterranean climate can be seen in the basin, but whan gone to the east the climate changes to territorial. The basin is surrounded by the mountains higher than 2000 meters from the north and east. The general slope is at the southeast and northwest. The mountains which locatael at the north and west of Akçay basin are Paleozoic old. The mountains that placed at the southweast are affected by the Alpin movements on a large scale. At the centre of the basin there are some collapse areas in Neogen and some places turn into lake. At some places thick lignite layers has occured. This cavity areas which filled with the materials inside the Neogen are bind to outher drenaj through the end of the Neogen. Especially the young tectonic movements which occured of the Alpin has affected northwest of the examiation area seriously. The motion at the Büyük Menderes valley continues through Bozdoğan and produce a perpendicular graben to this valley. Akçay has deepen its bed, for the level movements that has occured at the Quaternary, at Büyük Menderes valley and there has been a serious amount of discharge at the basin. The near brook have excavate their beds which is related to this level descent and so manyold landslides has occured. At the region it has often coincided to the active landslides. The badlands topographia has improved at the areas which has loose formation. With the deepen of the stream the flatness areas has became a plato. At the various places of the limestone, lapies, doline, concave, open pit, uvala and polje has occured. The Barz cavity has collapced by the tectonic movements. Many active fracture and earthguakes which can be seen in the investment area shows that the area is still affected by the tectonic movements. Some alivions has accumulated at the low areas 139which placed at the central part of the basin and some plains has occured and their heights are changed between 100-950 meters. The Akçay basin is located at the southwest of Turkey and generate the Büyük Menderes rivers' s is the most important tributary, is a grant basin. Around the basin circulated by the mountains. The basis of the high mountains are generated by the Paleozoic formation are located at northwest, nort and east. The mountains, effected by the motion of the before Alp orojenic, are abrasioned the peak. There are Mesozoic formation all over the basin except the nort. At the second time the karstic figures can be seen on the lime stones. Among these, the dolines are widespread. But on our region lapies, uvala, polje, dolin, cave, open pit can be seen like other karstic figures. In the Tersier, in different places of the basin, there are tectonic pits and lakes to come in to existence. Materials are carried from the environment to these lakes and around the Beyağaç, thewest of Tavas plain, Körteke, Yenidere, Kurbağahk, Narlı, There come into existence of lignite. Besides, there are rich marble mines on the north of basin, there are chrome mines on the south. 140
