Özet

ÖZET Tezin amacı; İstanbul Bilim Merkezi'nin çağdaş müzecilik anlayışına uygun özelliklerde eğitim programları oluşturmasına ve özellikle Meraklının Evi ve bunun dışında yer alacak Keşif Bahçesi'nde üç-altı yaş grubuna yönelik hazırlanacak eğitim programlarının nitelik ve içeriklerinin belirlenmesine yardımcı olmak ve bu konuda somut öneriler getirmektir. Tez çalışmaları Bilim Merkezi Vakfı ile işbirliği içinde yürütülmüştür ve ortaya çıkan sonuçların Vakfın çalışmalarına ışık tutması hedeflenmiştir. Tezin amaçları doğrultusunda öncelikle bilim merkezi kavramı ve diğer bilim merkezlerinin eğitim etkinlikleri birçok farklı kaynaktan araştırılmıştır. Ayrıca, eğitim programlarının çağdaş müzecilik anlayışı çerçevesinde oluşturulmasına yardımcı olması açısından, doğrudan müze eğitimi ile ilgili olan veya müze eğitimine uyarlanabilecek fikirler içeren, eğitimle ilgili kaynaklar da gözden geçirilmiştir. Bunun dışında üç-altı yaş grubuna yönelik etkinliklerin planlanmasında temel oluşturabilecek, bu yaş grubunun bedensel, sosyal, duygusal, zihinsel ve dil gelişim ve becerileri hakkında bilgiler içeren psikoloji kitapları ve okul öncesi eğitimine rehber olmak üzere yazılmış eserler incelenmiştir. Ayrıca küçük çocukları daha yakından tanımak ve eğitimleri ile ilgili bilgi almak için eğitimcilerle görüşmeler yapılmıştır. Sonuçta ortaya çıkan tez Giriş, Çocuk ve Eğitim, Bilim Merkezi Kavramı, İstanbul Bilim Merkezi, İstanbul Bilim Merkezi'nde Üç-Altı Yaş Grubundaki Çocuklara Yönelik Planlanan Eğitsel Etkinlikler ve Sonuç bölümünden oluşmaktadır. Tezin asıl amacı olan üç-altı yaş grubuna yönelik eğitsel etkinlikleri geliştirmekle ilgili bölümde bu etkinliklerin niteliğini tanımlayan, felsefesini açıklayan bir bölüm ve Merkez'in üç-altı yaş grubuna ayrılmış olan Keşif Bahçesi'nde Doğamız ve Müzik ve zeplin şeklindeki bir bina olan Meraklının Evi'nde ise Dünyamız, Vücudumuz, Bilimin Sihiri, Marketimiz, Ulaşımımız, Haberleşmemiz, Meslekler, Bilgisayar, İnşaat, Hikayeler/Bilmeceler, El-İşi ve Tiyatro/Kukla başlıklı programların sunulması önerilmiştir. Programların uygulanmasında deney, gözlem, anlatı, gösteri, tartışma, sohbet, soru-cevap, el-işi faaliyeti, eğitici drama, oyun, kavram haritası çıkarma gibi yöntemler kullanılacaktır.

ABSTRACT The title of the thesis is“The Planning of the Educational Programs of the Istanbul Science Center, Which Is Being Built, In Accordance with Contemporary Museology”. The aim of the thesis is to help the Istanbul Science Center to prepare its educational programs in accordance with contemporary museology and especially to help determine the philosophy and content of the educational programs which will be offered to the children between the ages of three and six in the areas which have been designed for them. The research for the thesis has been carried out with the cooperation of the Science Center Foundation in Istanbul who will be building the Istanbul Science Center. Moreover, the results of this research will hopefully shed light on their studies. In order to fulfill the aims of the thesis, the concept of the science center and the educational programs of the science centers around the world have been reviewed from many sources. Besides, to formulate the programs in accordance with contemporary museology, sources which are directly or indirectly related to museum education have been studied. Moreover, in order to form a basis for the educational programs for the three to six year old children, sources on psychology which provide information on their physical, emotional, linguistic, social and intellectual development and taleints and books which provide guidelines for preschool education have been reviewed. Furthermore, several interviews have been made with educators who have specialized in preschool education to learn more about young children and their education. The resulting thesis is comprised of parts titled: Introduction, Child and Education, The Concept of the Science Center, Istanbul Science Center, Educational Activities Which Have Been Planned for The Three To Six Year Old Children At The Istanbul Science Center and Conclusion. The part on the educational programs for the three to six year olds is comprised of two sections. The first section explains the philosophy of these programs and the second one gives a proposal for their content. According to this proposal the titles of the programs which will be carried out outdoors in“The Discovery Garden for the Three to Six Year Olds”are Our Nature and Music and the the titles of those which will becarried out indoors inside the egg-shaped building called“The Home of Curiosity”are Our World, Our Body, The Magic of Science, Our Supermarket, Our Transportation, Our Communication, Occupations, Computer, Construction, Stories/Riddles, Art and Theatre/Puppets. The educational methods which will be used in these programs are experimentation, observation, explanation, shows, discussion, conservation, question and answer, art, educational drama, plays and preparation of concept maps.
