Özet
Öz Bu tezde; Avrupa Birliğininin savunma sanayii boyutunu oluşturan Batı Avrupa Silahlanma Grubu'nun (WEAG) yapısı incelenmiştir. Türkiye'nin bu kurum içerisindeki yeri, ortak projeleri değerlendirilmiş, tüm bunların Türk savunma sanayii açısından önemi vurgulanmıştır. Türkiye'nin henüz Avrupa Birliği'ne tam üye olmaması nedeniyle Avrupa Birliği'nin savunma kolu olan Batı Avrupa Birliği'ne de henüz tam üye değildir. Batı Avrupa Birliği içerisinde Türkiye'ye tanınan statü“ortak üye”statüsüdür. Türkiye bu statü ile karar mekanizmasına katılamamaktadır. Ancak Maastricht Andlaşmasmdan sonra Avrupa Birliğine entegrasyonu sağlanarak, mevcut durumda Avrupa Birliği'nin savunma sanayii kolu olarak gözüken Batı Avrupa Silahlanma Grubu'na ise Türkiye kuruluşundan itibaren tam üyedir. Bu statü ile savunma sanayii projelerine iştirak edebilmektedir. Tezde tüm bu gelişmelerin Türkiye Avrupa Birliği ilişkilerine etkilerine de değinilmiştir. ABSTRACT In this thesis; the Western European Armaments Group (WEAG) which is the defence industry diamension of European Union has been reseached. Turkey's position in that organization, common projects as been evaluated and the importance of all those has been emphasized. Since Turkey is not a memeber of European Union, it is not a full member of Western European Union which is existing as the defence industry diamension of European Union. The status that has been granted to Turkey is“associate member status”. Turkey can not involve in the decision mecanism with that status. But Turkey is one of the full members of the Western European Union which is the defence industry diamension of the European Union from the very begining of the establishment of the Western European Union. Turkey can participate in the common defence industry projects with that status. In the thesis the efects of all those to the Turkey-EU relations has been mentioned.
