Özet

ÖZET Bu çalışmada; tarih öğretiminde fotoğraf kullanımının öğrenci başarısına etkisi, geleneksel öğretim yöntemiyle karşılaştırılarak incelenmiştir. Araştırmanın uygulaması, 2002-2003 öğretim yılı ikirici döneminde Sincan Fatih Endüstri Meslek Lisesi'nde aynı öğretmenin iki ayrı sınıfında 52 lise son sınıf öğrencisinden oluşan örneklem üzerinde yapılmıştır. Araştırmada, öntest-sontest kontrol gruplu deneysel desen kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada T.C. İnkılâp Tarihi ve Atatürkçülük dersi müfredat programında yer alan“Eğitim ve Kültür Alanında İnkılâp Hareketleri, Yeni Tarih Anlayışı, Türk Dilinin Zenginliği ve Toplumsal Hayatın Düzenlenmesi”konuları deney grubunda öğretim materyali olarak fotoğraf kullanılarak, kontrol grubunda ise geleneksel öğretim yöntemiyle anlatılmıştır. Araştırmanın verileri, T.C. İnkılâp Tarihi ve Atatürkçülük dersinin araştırmamıza dahil olan konuların işlenmesinden önceki konularından oluşan Başarı Testi (öntest) ve araştırmamıza dahil olan konulardan oluşan Başarı Testi (sontest) ile toplanmıştır. Araştırmanın alt problemlerine ilişkin bulgular, SPSS programından yararlanılarak bağımsız Mesti ile analiz edilmiştir. Yapılan analizlerin sonucunda tarih öğretiminde fotoğraf kullanılarak yapılan öğretim yöntemiyle öğrenim gören öğrenciler,“Eğitim ve Kültür Alanında İnkılâp Hareketleri, Yeni Tarih Anlayışı, Türk Dilinin Zenginliği ve Toplumsal Hayatın Düzenlenmesi”konularını öğrenmede geleneksel öğretim yöntemiyle öğrenim gören öğrencilerden daha başarılı olmuşlardır.

ABSTRACT In this study the effects of using photographs to the success of students in teaching history is examined by comparing with the traditional method. The subjects of this study are 52 High School senior students attending two seperate classes of the same teacher at Sincan Fatih Industry Vocational High- School. In the study pre-test, final test and control-grouped experimental figure have been used. The Revolution Movements in Educational and Cultural fields, New History Thought, The Variety of Turkish Language and the Ordering of Social Life subjects which take place in the Principles of Atatürk and The History of Revolutions of Turkish Republic curriculum is studied by using photographs in the experiment group and by the traditional teaching method in the control group. The data is collected by means of a pre-test consisting of the topics before the above mentioned topics and a final test about them. The data referring to the secondary problems of our study is evaluated by using an SPSS programme. The results of the study clearly indicate that the students who have been taught by using photographs in history lesson are more succesful than ones who have gone through a traditional education.
