ÖZET YENİ TEKNOLOJİNİN BANKACILIK SEKTÖRÜNDE ÇALIŞANLAR ÜZERİNDEKİ ETKİSİNİN NİTEL BİR DE?ERLENDİRMESİ: Ticari bir Bankada Uygulama ORAL, H. Atilla İŞ İDARESİ YÜKSEK LİSANS DERECESİ Haziran, 1990 Bu çalışmanın amacı yeni teknolojinin bankacılık sektörün deki uygulamalarının etkisinin nitel ölçütler doğrultusunda değerlendirilmesini sağlayacak bir araç geliştirmek ve bu aracı bir ticari bankada uygulamaktır. Bu değerlendirme aracı geliştirilirken, yazında bahsedilen pek çok nitel ölçütler incelenmiştir. Aracın uygulanması çalı şanların genel eğilimlerini ortaya çıkarmış ve bunun sonucu olarak, yeni teknolojinin insanlar üzerine etkisi değerlendirilmiş tir. Çalışmanın sonucu, çalışanların genel eğilimlerinin olumlu olduğunu ortaya çıkartmakla birlikte, yeni teknoloji uygulamaları ile ilgili çeşitli problemlerin halen mevcut olduğunu göstermek-tedir. Görülmüştür ki“iş stresi”, genel eğilimi etkileyen en önemli faktördür ve bu, yöneticilerin çabasıyla ortadan kaldırılabilir. Ancak bunun yanında, Türkiye'nin altyapı özelliklerin den kaynaklanan ve yönetimin kontrolünde olmayan bazı faktörler de mevcuttur ki bu da, değişimi idare etmeye çalışan Türk yöneticisinin önemli bir sorunudur. Çalışmanın sonucunda, bu nitel değerlendirme sonuçlarının, yeni teknoloji etkilerinin nicel ölçütleri ve yönlerini içeren değerlendirmelerle birleştirilmesinin gereği de vurgulanmıştır. ABSTRACT A QUALITATIVE EVALUATION OF THE IMPACT OF NEW TECHNOLOGY ON CLERICAL EMPLOYEES IN THE BANKING INDUSTRY: An Application in a Commercial Bank ORAL, H. Atilla MASTER OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION June, 1990 The purpose of this study is to develop an evaluation tool that takes into consideration the qualitative measures of the impact of new technology applications in service industries and to apply this tool in a commercial bank. In the development of the evaluation tool, various qualitative considerations mentioned in the literature have been covered. The application of the tool yields the overall attitude of the employees, and it is used in the evaluation of the impact of new technology on people. The results of the study revealed that the employees have a positive overall attitude towards automation but there are still problems related to the applications of new technology. It is found that“job stress”is the most important factor that affects iiithe employees' overall attitude and this can be eliminated by various management actions. However, it is also found that there are uncontrollable factors such as the infrastructural properties of Turkey, that create difficulties for the Turkish manager who attempts to manage change. It is finally pointed out that the results of this qualitative evaluation should be integrated with the evaluations that consider the quantitative measures and aspects of new technology, in order to obtain a complete assessment of the impact of new technology in service organizations.
