Özet

ULUDAĞ ÜNİVERSİTESİ SOSYAL BİLİMLER ENSTİTÜSÜ İLKÖĞRETİM ANABİLİM DALI MATEMATİK EĞİTİMİ BİLİM DALI İLKÖĞRETİM YEDİNCİ SINIFLARDA BİLGİSAYAR DESTEKLİ GEOMETRİ ÖĞRETİMİ Bülent BAGÇIVAN Yüksek Lisans Tezi Bu çalışma, ilköğretim 7. sınıf matematik dersinde, çemberler konusunun, projeksiyonlu bir bilgisayar ve hazırlanan Geometer's Sketchpad (GSP) çalışma yapraklan ile işlenmesinin, öğrenciler üzerindeki etkilerini belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır.“Bilgisayar Destekli Geometri Öğretimi”ni uygulamak için Bursa ili Özel Çakır İlköğretim Okulu 7. sınıftan 3 şube seçilmiştir. Toplam öğrenci sayısı 46 dır. Bilgisayar destekli öğretim (BDÖ) iki hafta uygulanmıştır. Çalışmanın başında, öğrencilere GSP programı, iki ders saatinde uygulamalı olarak tanıtılmıştır. Daha sonra, çemberler konusuyla ilgili, ders öncesinde araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan, GSP çalışma yapraklan kullanılarak, dershane ortamında, matematik ders saatleri içersinde bir bilgisayar ve projeksiyon ile 10 ders saati işlenmiştir. Uygulama sonunda çemberler konusunu içeren 15 çoktan seçmeli ham soru sorulmuş ve çemberler basan puanlan elde edilmiştir. Öğrencilerin önceki matematik sınavlarından geometri basan puanlan hesaplanmıştır. Bu iki basan karşılaştırılarak istatistiksel yorumlamalarda bulunulmuştur. Ayrıca, yapılan BDÖ ile ilgili öğrenci ve derslere izleyici olarak katılan öğretmenlerin görüşleri alınmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular sonucunda, çemberler konusunun, projeksiyonlu bir bilgisayar ve ders öncesinde hazırlanan GSP çalışma yapraklan ile işlenmesinin, istatistiksel olarak fark yaratmadığı gözlenmiştir. Ancak, BDÖ'in özellikle başarısız öğrencilerde not ortalaması açısından artışlar sağladığı gözlenmiştir. Uygulama hakkında öğrenci-öğretmen görüşlerinden olumlu olanlar şunlardır: Derse renkli bir görsellik kazandırılması, animasyonların kullanılması, dersin sıkıcı ve monotonluktan uzaklaşması, konu ile ilgili özelliklerin ezberle değil görsel olarak algılanmasıdır. Olumsuz görüşler ise; konuların hızlı geçilmesi, az örnek çözülmesi, öğrencilerin istenilen düzeyde aktif olamaması olarak tespit edilmiştir. Bu bulgulardan yola çıkarak“Bilgisayar Destekli Geometri Öğretimi”ile ilgili bazı öneriler geliştirilmiştir.

UNIVERSITY SOCIAL SCIENCES INSTITUTE PRIMARY DEPARTMENT MATHEMATICS EDUCATION COMPUTER ASSISTED GEOMETRY INSTRUCTION IN THE 7th GRADE OF THE PRIMARY SCHOOL Bülent BA?ÇIVAN Master Thesis This study has been conducted in order to define the effects of the instructional use of the“Geometer's Sketchpad”(GSP) worksheets on the circles through the help of a computer supported with a video projector in the 7th grade of a primary school. The three classes have been chosen from the 7 grade of The Private Çakır Primary school in Bursa City for the implementation of the“Computer Assisted Geometry Instruction”(CAGI). The total number of students is 46. The CAGI program has been implemented for two weeks. At the beginning, it was demonstrated to the students in the first two hours. Following that, the program with the GSP worksheets on the circles prepared by the researcher were instructed in 10 hours of math class in the classroom mounted with a computer and a video projected screen. At the end of the program, 15 raw multiple-item test questions on circles were asked and their performance scores on circles were obtained. Thus, their geometry grades earlier computed were compared and accounted for statistically. Furthermore, the survey sheets handed out to the audience composed of several teachers and students were collected. In the light of the data collected, the instructional use of the earlier prepared GSP worksheets on the circles through the help of a computer supported with a video projector has made no considerable differences. However, it has been observed that CAGI has made some noteworthy contributions to the betterment of the students with unsatisfactory levels. The teachers' and students' positive reflections accounted from the survey report that the class was interestingly taught, the animations were used, the class was not monotonous and boring, the details on the topic were instructed visually instead of direct memorization. As for the negative ones; the subtopics were taught rapidly, less examples were solved, the students were not active as expected. Conclusively, some recommendations have been made as to the implementation of the CAGI referring to the data accounted.
