İLKÖĞRETİM FEN BİLGİSİ DERSİNDE DOLAŞIM SİSTEMİ KONUSUNUN KAVRAM HARİTALARIYLA ÖĞRETİMİNİN ÖĞRENCİ BAŞARISINA ETKİSİNİN BELİRLENMESİ (YÜKSEK LİSANS TEZİ) Burcu ŞENLER MUĞLA ÜNİVERSİTESİ FEN BİLİMLERİ ENSTİTÜSÜ 2005 ÖZET Kavram haritaları, kavramların ve önermelerle birbirine bağlanan kavramlar arası ilişkilerin grafiksel gösterimidir. Kavram haritaları, bir konudaki temel kavramları açıkça ortaya koyarak anlamlı öğrenmeyi sağlar. Bu çalışmanın amacı İlköğretim Fen Bilgisi 6. sınıfta yer alan“Dolaşım Sistemi”konusunun kavram haritaları kullanılarak anlatılmasının öğrenci başarısına etkisini araştırmaktır. Araştırmaya 6. sınıfta okuyan toplam 75 öğrenci katılmıştır. Kontrol grubunda bulunan 37 öğrenciye geleneksel öğretimle, deney grubunda bulunan 38 öğrenciye ise hazırlanan kavram haritaları kullanılarak ders anlatılmıştır. Her iki grupta yer alan öğrencilere ders anlatımından önce dolaşım sistemi konusu ile ilgili 21 sorudan oluşan başarıyı ölçme testi ön test olarak uygulanmıştır. Ders anlatımı sonunda ise başarıyı ölçmek için yine aynı test her iki gruba son test olarak uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler bilgisayar ortamında SPSS 11.0 programında analiz edilmiştir. Analiz sonucunda kavram haritalarıyla öğretimin yapıldığı deney grubu ile geleneksel öğretimin yapıldığı kontrol grubu arasında anlamlı bir farklılık tespit edilmiştir (P

VI DETERMINING THE EFFECTS OF CONCEPT MAPPING ON STUDENTS' SUCCESS OF CmCULATORY SYSTEM IN PRIMARY SCHOOL SCffiNCE EDUCATION (M. Sc Thesis) Burcu ŞENLER MUGLA UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE of SCD2NCE and TECHNOLOGY 2005 ABSTRACT Concept maps are schematic devise to illustrate the concepts and connections between concepts with propositions. Concept maps provide meaningful learning by indicating basic concepts in a subject clearly. The aim of this research is to determine the students' success that are taught with the concept maps of the“Circulatory System”, in the 6th grade science education programme at the primary school education. Totally 75, 6th grade students have been taken as sample in this study. Thirty seven of them were taught in traditional instruction method as the other 38 students were being taught in method of using the concept maps. Both groups were given a pre-test about the circulatory system, which has 21 questions. After finishing the lessons, the same test was given to both groups as the post-test for evaluating the students' success. The data were analysed in SPSS 11.0 computer program. The results showed that the academical success of the students who were be taught using the concept maps were %22,97 higher than that of the ones who were be taught using traditional instruction.
