Özet (Çeviri)

The present study was conducted with the aim of analyzing the methods of and the factorsaffecting the acquisition of comtemporary knowledge in the social studies lessons in primaryeducation programs according to the criteria required by the age of information. The research wasdone according to the survey model and with 2000 students. The data were collected from the studentsin the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh grade classes which had social studies lessons. Among the sixschools in Bursa city determined, two schools are in Osmangazi district, two are in Nilu fer and theother two are in Y? r?ld? m.The data collection methods used were the student attitude-behaviour questionnaire, thequestionnaire of teacher views on the sufficiency of education-teaching, the acquisition and usagelevel of the contemporary knowledge test, the acquisition and usage level of the contemporaryknowledge attitude test, test for determining behaviour, the student self-evaluation qustionairre,elicitation of the teachersİ views on education-teaching, qualitative questions about the teachers andthe measurement instrument to be applied to the families of students.The participants of the study were the 2000 students in the aforementioned schools who wereattending fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh grades, 50 teachers, 162 student families, the administratorsof the schools and the heads and members of the school-family cooperation committes. The data wereanalyzed with SPSS 10.0 version. The data anaysis was done with the following: (1) FrequencyAnalysis (2) Descriptive Statistics (3) Diagonal Tables (Within The I tems) (4) Correlation Analysis(5) Regression Analysis (6) Q-Square Test (7) The Factors Analysis (8) Pearson Q-Square AndFisher Q-Square (9) Kruskal Wallis Test And Mann Whitney U Test (10) The Reliability Analysis(11) The Correlation Analysis (12) One Way Variance Analysis (13) Independent Samples T-Test.Qualitative data were analyzed with frequency analysis. The results of the study showed that thefactors such as socio-economic level, class level, sex, family, teacher and school administratorsaffecting the acquisition and usage of the contemporary knowledge in the social studies education.As a result, it has beeen determined that the factors such as socio-economic level, class level,sex, family, teacher and school administrators affecting the acquisition and usage of the contemporaryknowledge in the social studies education.Consultant: Prof. Dr. YUSUF OG UZOG LU The number of the pages: 232
