Özet
The purpose of medical treatment in the caustic esophageal burns (CEB) is to decrease inflammatory reaction and to prevent stricture formation. Resveratrol have got antiinfiammatory and antifibrotic properties. The aim of the study was investigated the effects of resveratrol antiinfiammatory and suppressing stricture formation in experimental CEB.Fourty-two male Wistar albino rats were divided into five groups as follows Control group, caustic group 4 and 28 group (esophageal burns were created), resveratrol 4 and 28 group (esophageal burns were created and resveratrol were given). CEB were produced by the method of Gehanno and Guedon as modified by Liu and Richardson, 25 % NaOH were used for burns. Animals were sacrificed on the 4th and 28th days for biochemical and histopathologic examination.
