Özet (Çeviri)

The Medreses of Seljuks are educational institutions, the origin of which goes as far back as 10th century before Seljuks. The first Medrese-type schools are known to be founded in Horasan and Maveraünnehir where the majority of the population was Turks. It is interesting that these medrese-type schools, were used for religious and ideological purposes. No matter, the first medreses are accepted to have been founded to be educational munitions by either Budhistst Monastries or Kerami Sects, especially in Nişabur, as propoganda centers, the basic aim of both was propoganda. It is believed that the first medreses before Seljuks were founded by Şafis and Hanifis in Nişabur as a response to train people who could make counter-propoganda against the sect propoganda of Keramis. At the end of this study, we reached the following results about the medreses of the Great Seljuks, as a general area and those in the period of Anatolian Seljuks, and Anatolian principalities. 1- Medrese is a higher educational institution including secondary education as well, from time to time. 2- Medrese is not an imitation of a Foreign educational institution as it is; it is originally a product of Turkish intelligence. 3- Medreses were found generally to achieve a) ideological, b) social integrational, c) theological, d) bureaucratic, e) scientific gools. 4- The medreses of Seljuks were administred financially by organizations called“ Vakıf”thus, they had an a) economical, b) administrative, c) scientific autonomy. 5- The only director of academical activities in Medrese is müderris (Professor). He was responsible for educational programmes, teaching methods, ways of evaluation and diplomavn 6- The Medreses of Seljuks played an important role in the formation of modern science with its help to transfer of especially positive scientific works of Islamic countries in 10th and ll111 centuries with a richer content They even affected directly the western world in the matters such as founding Universities with the help of establishing vakifs, paying the teachers, and giving scholarships to students, providing food and accommadation to students. Such institutions in die west were first established at least one and a half century after the establishment of Medreses by Seljuks
