Özet
Batı Felsefesi Tarihinin en etkili isimlerinden biri olan David Hume, sormuş olduğu sorular ve yanıtları ile kendisinden sonraki gelişmelerde de önemli rol oynamış ve aynı oranda da eleştiriye maruz kalmıştır. Özellikle nedensellik görüşleri bağlamında ele alınmış olan David Hume'u, bu çalışmamda kendisinin sormuş olduğu sorular doğrultusunda incelemeye çalıştım. Bu süreçte, çıkış noktası olarak Hume'un kendi düşüncelerini almış olmama rağmen, incelememi derinleştirebilmek adına, kendisine bazı noktalarda yöneltilmiş olan değerlendirmelere de yer verilmesinin gerekli olduğunu düşündüm. Felsefesinin temel belirlenimleri ekseninde geliştirdiği nedensellik eleştirisinin nasıl şekillendiğini ortaya koyabilmek için, nedensellik görüşlerine geçmeden önce, kendisinden önce aynı akımın temsilcilerinden belli başlı isimlere değinmekle başlayarak, bu sürecin sonunda, Hume'un bilgi felsefesini ve bu bağlamda da asıl konum olan nedensellik eleştirisini ayrıntılı olarak incelemeye çalıştım.

Among the most outstanding thinkers in the history of Western philosophy, David Hume had a great influence upon the progress following him with his enquiries and answers as much as the criticism he received in return. Referring to Hume in coherence with his ideas of causality, I have tried to analyze him within the frame of his very questions. I believe that it would be essential to mention the scrutinies he was liable to on certain issues despite the fact that I have chosen his own ideas as a starting point in the process. Before illuminating how his vision of causality, he developed through the basic determinations of his philosophy, took shape, I have started with mentioning some of the main proponents of the same doctrine preceding him and tried to analyze Hume?s epistemology and inquire into his vision of causality, which is my main subject .
