Özet
Bu çalısmada çesitli görsel analiz yöntemleri kullanılarak, oran ve ölçek kavramlarınınmeydan tasarımında ortaya çıkısı incelenmistir.Taksim Meydanı, örnek alan olarakbelirlenmis ve meydandaki Cumhuriyet Anıtı'nın oransal degeri, çevrelenmeninalgılandıgı oranlar ve meydanın ölçek algısı incelenmistir. Oran kavramı ve cephetasarımında; kapı, pencere, balkon, çatı detaylarında, hem de çevrelenme ve anıtyüksekliklerinde incelenmistir. Çevrelenmede ki yetersizlik, sınırlayıcıların eksikligi vealgılanamayan kapalılık etkisi ortaya konmustur. Cumhuriyet Anıtı'nın meydandakikayıp, baskın olmayan etkisi belirtilmistir. Alanda Anıtın daha iyi algılanmasına veçevrelenmede uygun oran ve ölçek degerlerinin hissedilmesine yönelik önerilergetirilmistir. Anıt çevresinde kolonad sistemi getirilmesi böylelikle anıtın vurgulanmasıve mekanın belirlenmesi hedeflenmistir. Cephe kaplamalarının yerel dokuya uygunsekilde degistirilerek aynı oransal sisteme sahip hale getirilmeleri önerilmistir. Uygunoran ve ölçek degerleri kullanılarak görsel açıdan uyumlu bir mekan tasarlanmasıhedeflenmistir.

In this study, the formation of the concepts of scale and proportion have beenresearched with using different types of visual analysis methods. Taksim Square waschosen as the sample site. Proportional value of the Cumhuriyet Monument located inthe square and perceived proportion of surrounding and also perceptional scale of thesquare have been researched. Proportion is searched in parts of building such as doors,windows, balconies, and roofs and in the endclosure of the square and the hight of theMonument. The insuficcient enclosure of the square is shown. The lost and undominateeffect of the Cumhuriyet Monument is searched. Suggestions are made about how theMonument can be perceived beter and how the correct scale and proportion on theenclosure of the square can be felt. Useing a column system around the monument issuggested to emphasize the monument and to determine the edges of the place. It issuggested to change the facades as suitable to the local structure and transform them tothe same proportion. The aim is to create a visually harmonious place by useingproportion and scale rules.
