Özet
Bu araştırmanın amacı, ilköğretim 4.-5. sınıf öğrencilerinin kendi çizimlerinden fen dersi öğretimine yönelik algılarıyla, yapılandırmacı öğrenme ortamı anlayışları arasındaki ilişkinin belirlenmesidir.Bu araştırmanın evreni, 2006-2007 eğitim yılında, İzmir il sınırları içindeki resmi ilköğretim okullarındaki dördüncü ve beşinci sınıf öğrencileridir. Araştırmanın örneklemi ise, İzmir ilinden rastlantısal küme örnekleme yoluyla belirlenen okullardaki 646 dördüncü ve beşinci sınıf öğrencisidir. Araştırmada veriler, `Yapılandırmacı Öğrenme Ortamı Belirme Ölçeği'nin ve `Fen Bilgisi Öğretmeni Resimleme Formu'nun 646 öğrenci tarafından yanıtlanmasıyla elde edilmiştir. Yapılandırmacı Öğrenme Ortamının Belirlemesi Ölçeği'nin güvenirlik katsayısı (cronbach alpha) 0,887, `Fen Bilgisi Öğretmeni Resimleme Formu''nun KR-20 güvenirlik katsayısı 0,719 bulunmuştur.Uygulanan ölçekler sonunda elde edilen veriler amaçlara uygun olarak frekans, yüzde, aritmetik ortalama, standart sapma, t testi, korelasyon analizi ve tek faktörlü anova kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Verilerin İstatistiksel çözümlemelerinde SPSS 15,0 Programından yararlanılmıştır. Araştırmada anlamlılık düzeyi 0.05 olarak kabul edilmiştir.Öğrencilerin çizdikleri resimler sonucunda, öğretmenlerin genel olarak sınıflarda yapılandırmacı öğrenme ortamları oluşturdukları görülmüştür. Öğrencilerin yapılandırmacı öğrenme ortamı anlayışlarının cinsiyete, sınıf düzeyine ve başarı puanına göre farklılık gösterdiği saptanmıştır. Ayrıca öğrencilerin fen dersi öğretimine yönelik algılarıyla, yapılandırmacı öğrenme ortamı anlayışları arasında yüksek bir ilişki bulunmuştur.

The present study aims to determine the relationship between fourth and fifth grade elementary school students? perceptions of science teaching and their conceptions of constructivist learning environment drawing upon their self-drawings.The target population of the present study was the fourth and fifth grade elementary school students receiving education at the official elementary teaching institutions within the province of Izmir during the educational year of 2006-2007. Its sample is composed of 646 fourth and fifth grade students receiving education at schools selected through random-set sampling within the province of Izmir. The data of the research were obtained through the responses of 646 students to `Constructivist Learning Environment Scale? and `Draw-A-Science-Teacher-Test Checklist?. The reliability coefficient (Cronbach alpha) for the Constructivist Learning Environment Scale was found to be 0.887; and the KR-20 reliability coefficient of the `Draw-A-Science-Teacher-Test Checklist? 0.719.In accordance with the purposes of the study, the data obtained through the applied scales were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, correlation analysis and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA). SPSS 15.0 software was used for the statistical analysis of the data. The level of significance in the study was agreed to be 0.05.The self-drawings of students demonstrated that teachers in general create constructivist learning environments in the classrooms. It was also determined that students? conceptions of constructivist learning environment differ in terms of gender, grade level and success grades. Furthermore, a high correlation was found between students? perceptions of science teaching and their conceptions of constructivist learning environment.
