Özet

ABSTRACT A NOVEL SYNTHESIS OF SUBSTITUTED 2H-PYRAN-2-ONE DERIVATİVES KARAASLAN (URKMEZ), Rezzan Ph.D. in Chemistry Supervisor: Doc.Dr.Ayhan S. Demir April 1992, 109 pages. This work includes an efficient synthetic route for öne pot synthesis of substituted 2H-pyran-2ones which are very important structural units of some biologically active compound. Various metal enolates of a-methyl and meîhylene carbonyl compounds reacted with methyl-2-carbomethoxy-3-(N-methylaniline)acrylate to give directly 2H-pyran-2-one in high yieid via addition-elimination, follovved by intramolecular cyclization reaction. in addition to this, the conjugate addition reaction of metalateu iiiacetonitrile, malono dinitrile and dimethyl malonate with the same Michael acceptor was tried and alkenoic acid ester were obtained. The synthesis of substituted 2H-pyran-2-ones was also carried out by using acid catalyst. Key vvords : Michael acceptor, a-pyrone, conjugate addition. Science code : 405.02.01 iv
