Özet
Bu araştırmanın amacı değerli taş ve mücevherat sektöründe tasarım eğitiminin yerini ve önemini vurgulamaktır. Bu genel amaç doğrultusunda, işletmeyle ilgili genel bilgiler, üretim, araştırma ve geliştirme, tasarımcı istihdamı ve tasarım eğitimi konusunda firma yetkilileri ve tasarımcıların görüşleri ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır.Bu araştırmanın çalışma evrenini Ankara, İstanbul ve İzmir illerindeki değerli taş ve mücevherat üretimi yapan firmaların yetkilileri (100) ve bu firmalarda çalışmakta olan mücevherat tasarımcıları (100) oluşturmaktadır.Bu araştırmada betimsel yöntem kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın alt amaçları doğrultusunda değerli taş ve mücevherat sektöründeki firma yetkilileri ve tasarımcılara uygulanan likert tipi anket ile toplanan veriler yüzde frekans, t-testi ve aritmetik ortalama kullanılarak çözümlenmiştir.Araştırmanın sonuçlarına göre;Firma yetkilileri, özgün tasarım ve tasarım eğitimi konusunda tasarımcılar kadar bu konuya önem vermemektedirler ve tasarım eğitiminin önemine inanmamaktadırlar.Araştırma sonuçlarına bağlı olarak firmaların tasarım eğitimi konusuna gereken önemi vermeleri yönünde bazı öneriler geliştirilmiştir.

The purpose of this study is to stress the importance and the position of design education at the valuable stone and jewellery industry. According to this purpose, the general working conditions of the companies, production, search and development, designer employment and the comments of the employers about design education and the opinions of the designers were tried to explained.This study was carried out together with the authorized persons (100) and the jewellery designers (100) who were worked at the valuable stone and jewellery production facilities located in Ankara, İstanbul, and Izmir.The descriptive method was used at this study. According to the inferior purposes of this study, the Likert type of questionnaire was applied to the authorized persons and jewellery designers and the receipt feedbacks were analysed with using the percentage frequence , T-test and arithmetical average.According to the results of the research;Company officials, in the original design and design education as well as designers and design do not give importance to this issue do not believe in the importance of education.Depending on the results of research on the companies need to design the importance of education, some proposals have been developed to provide direction.
