Özet
Araştırmanın amacı, Atatürk Üniversitesi Özel Yetenek Sınavı uygulamalarındakarşılaşılan problemlerin çeşitli değişkenler açısından değerlendirilmesidir. Araştırmanın evrenini2006-2007 yılında Atatürk Üniversitesi Özel Yetenek Sınavına katılan adaylar oluşturmaktadır.Araştırmanın örneklemini ise 2005-2006 Özel Yetenek Sınavına katılan 394 erkek, 130 kız, toplam524 aday oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma kapsamında, sınavlara girecek adaylara uygulanmak üzereanket formu, sınavda görevli öğretim elemanlarına görüşme formu geliştirilmiştir. Betimsel çalışmaolan bu araştırmada, tarama (survey) modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırma kapsamında elde edilenbulgular SPSS for Windows 12.00 istatistik paket programı ile analiz edilerek tablolar halindeyorumlanmıştır.Araştırmada adayların özel yetenek sınavı ile ilgili genel görüşleri, özel yeteneksınavlarına giriş nedenleri, özel yetenek sınavlarının niteliğine ve uygulama koşullarına ilişkingörüşleri, cinsiyet, spor branşı, kurs alıp-almama, mezun olduğu lise türü, sınava giriş sayısı gibideğişkenlerle karşılaştırılmıştır.Araştırma sonuçlarına göre özel yetenek sınavlarına katılan adayların sınavlara kendiistekleri doğrultusunda, bu mesleğe özel ilgileri olduğundan, idealleri için katıldıkları sonucusaptanmıştır. Adayların sınavın niteliğine ilişkin görüşleri değerlendirildiğinde çoklu tercihyapılmasının doğruluğu, spor lisesi mezunlarına ek puan verilmesi gerektiği, bireysel ve takımsporları branş alternatiflerinin artırılması gerektiği, sınavın uygulama süresinin artırılması gerektiğisonucu saptanmıştır. Adayların sınavın uygulama koşullarına ilişkin görüşler değerlendirildiğinde,sınav komisyonunun sınavları objektif bir şekilde yürüttüğü, sınavların yapıldığı fiziki ortamınyeterli olduğu, sınavlar süresince barınma, yeme-içme ile ilgili güçlük çekmedikleri saptanmıştır.Sınav komisyonunda görevli öğretim elemanları açısından sınavların istenilen kalitedeöğrenci almada kısmen yeterli, objektif olduğu, her bölümün kendi sınavını kendilerinin yapmasıgerektiği, sınavların daha da geliştirilebileceği sonucu saptanmıştır. Ayrıca araştırmada sonuçlarayönelik değerlendirmede ve araştırmacılara yönelik önerilere yer verilmiştir.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate some problems in the application of specialability examination in Atatürk University from various viewpoints. The study contains thecandidates joining the special ability examination in 2005-2006 academic year in AtatürkUniversity. The total number of students is 524, 394 males and 130 females. A questionnairewas given to those who took the exam, and an interview form to lecturers. Survey method wasused in this descriptive study. The findings were analyzed with SPSS for Windows 12.00statistics programme, and were given as tables.The study compares such variants as the views of candidates on the exam, theirreasons to take the exam, their views on the general feature and application conditions of theexam, sex, the branch of sports, whether they have taken course for the exam, the type of highschool and how many times they took the exam.The study revealed that candidates took the exam in accordance with their wishes, andtheir interest in this profession in line with their ideals. When the views of students regardingthe exam were evaluated, the truthfulness of multiple preference, the need for additional pointsto the graduates of sports high school, the need to increase individual and team sports branchalternatives, and the need to increase the application period of the examination came to theforefront. When the views of candidates on the application of the exam were considered, it wasfound that the exam commission was objective in the exam, the physical conditions wereadequate for the exam, and the candidates had no difficulty in accommodation during the exam.The examination commission noted that the quality of the exam was good, the examwas objective in selecting good students, each department should give its own exam, and examscould be improved. The study also presents suggestions for researchers about the results.
