Özet
Günümüzün en çok tartışılan konularının başında küreselleşme ve yerelleşme gelmektedir. Küreyerelleşme bu iki başlığı bir araya getirerek dünya barışını ve rehaf artışını sağlamayı hedeflemektedir. Bu çalışmada küreyerelleşmenin bu iddiasını sorguladık. Küreyerelleşmenin Batı dünya egemenliğinin devamını sağlayan bir araç olduğunu tespit ettik. Şehirlerin Batı düzenine göre yeniden biçim verildiği küreyerelleşme sürecinde Batı ?dışı toplumların, birçok koldan Batıya bağımlı hale geleceğine dikkat çektik. Elde ettiğimiz bulguları İstanbul örneğine uyguladık. Küreyerelleşme önerilerini uygulamak suretiyle İstanbul'un dünyayı etkileyen bir şehir olamayacağını tespit ettik. Türk şehirinin ancak Türkiye'nin mefaatlerini ve toplum beklentilerini karşılayan bir siyaset ile etkili hale geleceğini sonucuna vardık.

Today one of the most debated subjects is globalization and localization. The glocalization is proposed as a solution to the world peace and prosperity issues which involves both globalization and localization. It has been widely accepted that the glocalization is the only solution for a better future. In this study we analyze these claims. Here, first and foremost we have focused on the theoretical aspects of glocalization. We ascertain that the aim of the glocalization is to shape the non ?Western cities according to the needs of continuum of Western world domination. We state that by the glocalization, world won?t be better place where the non-Western dependence on West enhancing as reshaped glocal cities according to the glocal demands offer multiple possibilities for a Western control. After all we applied the data to Istanbul. The study of Istanbul case indicates that implementing glocal propositions in the city will not make Istanbul the city that influences the world issues on the agenda. As a conclusion we have reached the idea that Istanbul and other Turkish cities can be impressive only when a politics which meets both the Turkish interests and the expectations of society implemented.
