Özet
Okul hayatı boyunca yapılan sınavlar öğrencilerin hayatının ayrılmaz bir parçası haline gelmiştir. Ülkemizde ilköğretim düzeyinde her yıl yapılan Seviye Belirleme Sınavı (SBS) öğrencilerin istedikleri liseye girişlerinde kullanılmaktadır. Bu sınav, ortaöğretime geçiş sisteminde uygulanan üç aşamalı bir sınavlar zincirinden ibarettir. Öğrenciler 6. 7. ve 8. sınıfta bu sınavlara girdikten sonra tercih döneminde istedikleri okullara eğer puanları bu okullar için yeterliyse yerleşebileceklerdir. Dolayısıyla öğrencilerin geleceği açısından önemi büyüktür. Her yıl yapılan sınavlar öğrencilerin bu sınavlarda başarılı olabilmesi için bu sınavlara hazırlanmalarını ve bu yüzden de derslere motive olmalarını gerektirmektedir. Fakat bu sınavlar öğrenci üzerinde sınav kaygısı, olumsuz stres gibi sorunlara yol açıp motivasyon düşüklüğüne de sebep olabilmektedir.Sınavlar öğrenci başarısını olumlu ya da olumsuz olarak etkilemekle kalmayıp gelişme döneminde olan çocukların yıllar boyu sınav- stres- gelecek korkusu üçgeninde yaşamalarına sebep olmaktadır. Öğrenciler önlerine sıralanan sınav zincirleri ile hayallerini birleştirme derdine girmekte, hayaller ve gerçekler arasındaki fark arttıkça da gerginlik artmaktadır. Öğrencilerin yeteneklerinin dışında hepsi aynıymış aynı özelliklere sahipmiş gibi düşünülerek hazırlanan sınav sistemi öğrencilerin gelecek açısından yetiştirilmesinde de aksaklıklara da yol açmaktadır. Müzik yeteneği olan ve bu yönde eğitim almak isteyen bir öğrenci fenle matematikle baş etmenin ne kadar da zor olduğunu ve giderek zorlaştığını görerek umutsuzluğa kapılacaktır.Sistem gereği öğrenciler bütün şartlara uyum sağlamaya çalışmaktadırlar. Yeni uygulamalar, yeni süreçler hemen adapte olunmayı bekleyen aksi halde fayda sağlanamayan birer fırsattan ibarettir. Tabi ki bu fırsatları değerlendirebilmek için öğrencinin okul hayatına ve sınav sürecine tam teşekküllü olarak katılması gerekmektedir. Bu da ancak aile, okul ve çevrenin yanı sıra sunulan ekonomik faktörlerinde sayesinde gerçekleşecektir. Bütün bu şartlar öğrencinin hem psikolojik hem de akademik olarak kendini hazır hissedebilmesi için vazgeçilemeyecek şartlardır. Sürece motive olmak zihinde herhangi bir çatışma bırakmamak güdülenmeyi daha da artıracaktır.Sınavların her ne kadar olumsuz yönleri üzerinde dursak da, öğrencilerin sosyalleşmeleri açısından birbirlerini anlamaları ve empati kurabilmeleri için ortak bir noktalarının olması önemli bir nitelik taşımaktadır. Bu yüzden bu çalışma daha çok öğrencilerin bu sürece nasıl baktığı ve nasıl değerlendirdikleri üzerinde yoğunlaşmıştır. Dolayısıyla bu araştırmada SBS okul başarısına etkisi ve motivasyon sorunu üzerinde durulmuştur.

The exams done thoroughout the school life has become an integral part of the students. Placement Exam (SBS) is done in our country each year and used as a step for students who want to enter to the high school part. They can just choose the part according to points they get from the SBS. This exam consists of three stages. This stages are very important as students will have the chance of choosing anyschool they want however in this choosing system poınts gotten from SBS are important. If students get enough points from the exam they wıll be put these schools.therefore poınts have crucial importance for the future of the students . If students want to be successful in these exams they must motivate themselves, be motivated and study a lot for it every year. However this exams lead to low motivation because of exam anxiety and negative stress.This kind of exams have alot of negative effects on students as well as positive effects. Thinking whether they wıll pass this exam or not ın everysecond, creates a big stress and future anxiety. students have so many exam chains that they try to get used to live with ıts advantages and disadvantages. This period causes students to have trouble such as increasing tension, anxiety and stres. In fact, such kind of exam is not proper for the students as ıt doesnot have a correct assessment because It sees all students to have an equal cabability. However, we all know that every student has different talents and methods and they must be measured considering they level and cababilities. If not, this wıll be end with big problems not only for the students? future but also for our future generations. A student who has musical peformance will have difficulty in other lessons because she/he wıll waste much effort on studying mathematics and science ?etc.Although this system is somehow incorrect, the only thing should be done is trying to adapt it immediately, otherwise It wıll be end with chaos. Students have to learn everything and study the necessary rules the system wants. While students are dealing with this system their family must show that they are with them,they should help them both psychologically and academically. And also the environment must be proper, silent places are all the time good for stundents while studying and during the exam, as students `attention must be only on the questions or subject otherwise it is very difficult to be successful.Although exams have got alot of negative aspects it also leads students to be social and helps students to understand eachother. They feel that they are not alone,every student has the same problem. It helps building empathy ,they can easily understand eachother,they communicate, share problems alltogether.Shortly, the aim of my subject is what students think about SBS system and how they evaluate this system and what they feel about it. Therefore I focus on the motivation and school success.
