Özet
Bu araştırmanın amacı, ilköğretim ikinci kademe (6., 7. ve 8. sınıf) öğrencilerinin nanoteknoloji hakkındaki temel bilgi ve görüşleri ile teknolojiye yönelik tutumlarını farklı değişkenler açısından araştırmaktır.Nanoteknolojiye yönelik halkın görüşleri son yıllarda yapılan bazı araştırmaların konusunu oluşturmuştur. Fakat bu çalışmaların çoğu, kamuoyunun nanoteknolojiye yönelik görüşleri hakkındadır. İlköğretim öğrencilerinin nanoteknolojiye yönelik görüşleri veya risk algılarını ortaya koyan çalışmalar sınırlı sayıdadır.Araştırmanın örneklemini, Muğla merkez ilçeye bağlı 23 ilköğretim okulunun 6., 7. ve 8. sınıflarında okuyan, 708'i kız (%50.7), 688'i erkek (%49.3) öğrenci olmak üzere toplam 1396 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Veriler ?Nanoteknoloji Anketi? ve ülkemiz için geçerlik-güvenirlik çalışması yapılmış ?Teknolojiye Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği (TYTÖ)? ile toplanmıştır. Ölçme araçlarından elde edilen veriler SPSS paket programı kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir.Bulgular, öğrencilerin büyük bir kısmının teknolojiye yönelik olumlu tutumlara sahip olduğunu göstermiştir. Öğrencilerin TYTÖ'ne verdikleri cevaplar incelendiğinde, teknolojiye yönelik eğilim (n= 558, %40), teknolojinin katkısı ve önemi (n= 768, %55), herkes için teknoloji (n=730, %56) alt boyutlarına ?Katılıyorum? yönünde, teknolojiye yönelik hoşnutsuzlukla ilgili alt boyutuna ise ?Katılmıyorum? The purpose of the present study is to investigate the elementary school secondary level students? basic knowledge and opinions about nanotechnology and attitudes towards technology in relation to different variables.The public opinions about nanotechnology have become the interest of some research in recent years. However, much of this research deals with the opinions of the general public about nanotechnology. The number of the studies presenting elementary school students? opinions about or risk-perceptions of nanotechnology is relatively limited. The present study aiming to help fill in this gap in the literature was carried out among 1396, 708 (50.7%) females and 688 (49.3%) males, 6th, 7th and 8th grade elementary school students from 23 different elementary schools of Muğla city. For the analyses of the data, reliability and validity works were carried out. The data were collected through Pupils? Attitude towards Technology-PATT-TR and Nanotechnology questionnaire. The data obtained were analyzed through SPSS program package.The findings of the study revealed that the high majority of the students have positive attitudes towards nanotechnology. When the students? responses to PATT-TR form were examined, following results were found: 40% (n= 558) of the students chose the option of ?I agree? for the sub-dimension of tendency towards technology, 55% (n= 768) of them chose the option of ?I agree? for the sub-dimension of contributions and importance of technology and 56% (n= 730) chose the option of ?I agree? for the sub-dimension of technology for everybody and 11% (n= 154) of the students chose the option of ?I disagree? for the sub-dimension of discontent with technology.
