Özet

111 SUMMARY in work, a diallel set of crosses was made involving 6 varieties to study genetic parameters of adapted parents and promising lines. This research was conducted at the research station o-F Çukurova University, Agriculture Faculty, Field Crops Department. Selected parents were crossed in growlng season of 1990-1991, and Fj/s and parents were grown in 1991-1992 season under wire cage by using randomized complete blocks design with three replications. in the experiment; plant yield, kernel number per head, kernel weight per head, 1000 kernel weight, spikelet number per head, head length, flag leaf area, plant height, stem diameter, internode length, ratio of internode length/diameter and heading time were examined. The above mentioned characters were analyzed with four different statistical methods. These are; 1-Analysis of variance 2-Jinks-Hayman type diallel analysis 3-Anlysis of variance of diallel tables 4-Griffing type analysis The results obtained from above analysis were summarized as fallows. 1-A11 characters were investigated, significance differences were found in the populations of Fj/s and their parents. 2.Except heading time, ali other characters showed significant environmental component of variations. 3.Additive effect was significant only for spikelet number per head, whereas dominance effect played importent role in other characters. 4.Partial dominance effect was found in plant yield, kernel number per head, stem diameter and ratio of internode length/stem diameter. Whereas dominance effect was found in spikelet number per head and kernel number per head. While över-dominance effect was found in flag leaf area, head length, 1000 grain weight, plant height and internode length.112 5-It was found that recessive alleles were more effective in plant yield, spikelet number per head, kernel number per head, kernel weight per head, 1000 kernel weight, flag lea-F area, plant yield, stem diameter, ratio of internode length/diameter, and heading time. But dominant alleles were more effective in head length and internode length. 6-It was found that at least 5 pairs of genes was effective in heredity of plant yield, kernel number per head and kernel weight per head, 6 pairs of genes was effective in stem diameter and ratio of internode length/diameter, 7 pairs of genes was effective in spikelet number per head and l pair of genes was effective in internode length and heading time. 7-Narrow-sense heritability was quite low in kernel number per head, flag leaf area, plant height, internode length, stem diameter, ratio of internode length/diameter and heading time. However it was between 10-25X for head length, spikelet number per head, and 1000 kernel weight. 8-Successful selections at early generations can be made for head length, spikelet number per head, and 1000 kernel weight. 9-Some parents and hybrid combinations were found to be promising to improve investigated characters, by concerning general and specific combining abilities. ı
