Özet

ABSTRACT THE EFFECTS OF DIFFERENT PLANT DENSITIES ON THE YIELD AND YIELD COMPONENTS OF COMMON VETCH Var. EMIR GROWN AT WINTER AND SPRING SOWINGS This study was carried out to investigate the effects of winter and spring sowings and six plant densities on hay and seed yield and yield components at Emir (20-1) variety of common vetch under Bursa ecological conditions in 1991-1993. Stuties were done at the Agricultural Research and Applying Center of Uludağ University. According to the results obtained from this research, winter sowings significantly yielded more than spring sowings in respect of both morfological and agronomic characters such as green forage, dry matter and seed yields. The highest green forage and dry matter yields were obtained at 300 seeds/m2 density, although the highest seed yield was obtained at 250-300 seeds/m2 in winter sowings. As a result; to obtain more green forage and dry matter yields from Emir (20-1) variety of common vetch under research conditions, we remommend that it could be sown in winter with 300 pure and alive seeds/m2 density or 20.0 kg/da sowing rate.
