Dr. Bak i CANI K 1994, Page: lOO Jury : Prof. Dr. Baki CANlK Prof. Dr. Erman SAMI LGl L Prof.Dr. Şevki FlLlZ In this study, geological and hydrogeological maps C scales: 1/250003 of Mecitözü-Konaklı area CCorunrD were prepared for hydrogeological investigation purposes. The oldest units in the study are the metamorphic rocks along with the occasional limestone blocks of Permian-Triassic age, called the Deveci dag melange. This unit is impermeable and unconformly overlain by the Ferhatkaya Formation composed of limestone with varying properties. This unit is permeable and of Upper Jurassic- Lower Cretaceous age. Ferhatkaya Formation is overlain by Çekerek Formation with an unconformity which consists of sandstone, conglomerate, and marl of Eosen CLutesianD age. The volkanic rocks in theiv study area Were grouped as the aglomera member of the Çekerek Formation. This member is composed of basalt and tuff and of the same age as The Çekerek Formation. This formation is impermeable where it makes a horizontal transition with Çekerek Formation due to existence of marl and tuff. It has low permeability in areas where it overlies Çekerek Formation. The youngest units in the study area are the permeable alluvial units composed of mostly sands and gravels. It was observed that the Ferhatkaya Formation composed of limestones makes up an unconfined aguifer where it outcrops. It becomes a confined aguifer where it is overlain by Çekerek Formation composed of marl. The alluvial units make up unconfined type of aguifers. Total porosities of samples collected from alluvial units ranged from % 34 - % 36 and hydraulic conductivity values varied between 1,09.10" - 9,55. 10~* m/sec. The total porosity values for limestones range from % 1,34 to % 3,85. There is a wide spread karstif ication throughout the limestones of Upper Jurassic -Lower Triassic age in the area. The existence of karstic structures such as dolin, solution steps, lapies were observed.
