Özet

Bu araştırmanın genel amacı, elektronik portfolyo (e-portfolyo) yönteminin etkililiğinin değerlendirilmesidir. Bu amaçla, ilköğretim 4. ve 5. sınıf öğrencilerinin Sosyal Bilgiler ile Fen ve Teknoloji derslerinde e-portfolyo kullanımının, öğrencilerin ders başarılarına ve derse yönelik tutumlarına olan etkisi incelenmiştir. Ayrıca e-portfolyonun uygulanması için hazırlanan e-portfolyo web sitesi ve e-portfolyo uygulama süreci ile ilgili olarak öğrenci, öğretmen ve veli görüşleri alınmıştır. Bununla birlikte e-portfolyo web sitesine entegre edilen rubrik, birey ve çalışma değerlendirme formları, yorum ve ürün puanlama aracı gibi değerlendirme araçlarının kullanım oranı ve bu formların kullanımı ile ortaya çıkan değerlendirme sonuçları incelenmiştir. Araştırmada hem nicel hem de nitel araştırma yöntemlerinin birlikte kullanıldığı karma araştırma yönteminden faydalanılmıştır. Nicel yöntemler kapsamında, deneysel desen türlerinden“Ön-test ve son-test kontrol gruplu yarı deneysel desen”kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, 2011 -2012 eğitim-öğretim yılı bahar döneminde, Konya il merkezinde eğitim veren Mareşal Mustafa Kemal İlköğretim Okulunda 4. ve 5. sınıfta öğrenim gören 165 öğrenci ile 4 sınıf öğretmeni ve bu öğrencilerin velileri oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma, Sosyal Bilgiler ile Fen ve Teknoloji derslerinde yürütülmüştür. Araştırma kapsamında bir deney ve bir kontrol grubu oluşturulmuştur. Deney grubunda öğrencilerden hazırlanan e-portfolyo web sitesini kullanmaları istenmiştir. Kontrol grubu ise ders programına uygun olarak ders işlemeye devam etmiştir. Araştırmanın nicel verilerinin analizinde betimsel istatistikler, t-testi ve tek yönlü kovaryans analizi (ANCOVA) kullanılmıştır. Nitel verilerin analizinde ise betimsel analiz kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonunda; deney grubu öğrencilerinin akademik başarı ve derse yönelik tutum puanlarının, kontrol grubu öğrencilerinin puanlarına göre daha yüksek düzeyde olduğu, e-portfolyo süreci ile ilgili öğrenci, öğretmen ve veli görüşlerinin olumlu olduğu ve e-portfolyo web sitesi üzerindeki değerlendirme araçlarının kullanım oranlarının yüksek düzeyde olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır.

The main purpose of the study was to evaluate the effectiveness of the electronic portfolio (e-portfolio) method. For this purpose, the effect of using e-portfolio on students' academic achievement, attitudes towards the course was investigated in the context of 4th and 5th grade Social Studies course and Science and Technology course in primary education. In addition, students', teachers' and parents' views about implementation of e-portfolio, prepared for e-portfolio website and e-portfolio process were investigated. Also, rubrics, individual and work evaluation forms, comments and product scoring tool such as utilization rate of assessment tools and assessment results which were integrated into e-portfolio website were examined. In this research, mixed method study including both quantitative and qualitative research methods was utilized. The scope of quantitative methods, in the research design,“quasi-experimental design which was pre-test/post-test control group model”was used. The study group included 165 4th and 5th grade students, their parents and 4 teachers from Mareşal Mustafa Kemal Elementary Education School, in Konya during the spring semester of 2011 - 2012 academic years. Research was conducted in Social Studies course and Science and Technology courses. An experimental group and a control group were created under research. In the experimental group, usage of the prepared e-portfolio website was requested from students. In the control group, the course continued according to syllabus. To analyze the obtained quantitative data; descriptive statistics, t-test and one-way analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) were applied. In the qualitative data analysis, descriptive analysis was used. According to the results of the study it is found that the academic achievement and attitudes towards the course scores of the students in the experimental groups were higher than the ones in the control group; students, teachers and parents' views were positive about process of e-portfolio and using assessment tools in e-portfolio website were at a high level.
