ÖZET Çukurova koşullarında I- ve II. ürün mısırda Aris ve Pioneer 3183 mısır çeşitlerinde en uygun ekim tarihlerini ve su-verim ilişkilerini saptamak amacıyla yapılan bu çalışma Çukurova Bölgesinde yaygın olarak bulunan Dymaklı, Çanakçı, Mürsel, Arıklı, Helvacı ve Baharlı serilerinde yürütülmüştür. SUMMARY This study which was done to determine water-yield relation and the most favorable planting dates in the first and second crop maize with Aris and Pioneer 3183 maize varieties conducted in Çukurova Region on the widesapread soil series such as Çanakçı, Oymaklx, Helvacı, Mürsel, Arıklı and Baharlı. The Model of Land Use System Analysis was developed by P. M Driessen and N.J Konijin (1992). The climatic data used in this modeling study was belong to Adana and Karataş for the years of 1990-1991 and 1992. Only PS-1 and PS-2 stages of the model were used in this study. In the stage P3-1, the most favorable planting date was determined, it is stated, that the planting dates were varied between S March to 9 May for the first crop maize. The dates for the highest yield were varied based on the years, planting dates and maize varieties. PS-2 analysis is the water limited-yield production potential where soil properties were taken into consideration in addition to climate. In PS-2 stage, 14 separate texture classes were presented. Some soil properties belong to each soil series were presented. The planting dates in PS-1 used to determine number of irrigation and amount of water to be applied at each irrigation to get the highest yield. According to the results obtained from this study; the highest yield in the first crop maize was from Aris maize variety with 16536 kg/ha
