Scope and methods. In this dissertation, I discuss the phenomenology of exotic models at the LHC. In Chapter 2 the phenomenology of color sextet vector diquark is analyzed in l+ + 2b + T final state resulting from the interference of SM s-channel single top quark production and the diquark. In Chapter 3, color triplet spin-3/2 quark is searched in three different decay modes. In the last Chapter 4 the observed discrepancy in the ATLAS Higgs to diphoton signal is explained in the context of non-minimal Universal Extra Dimensional model with a suitable choice of parameters. The bound on the model parameters is obtained from ATLAS multi-jet plus missing transverse momenta results. Findings and conclusions. In Chapter 2, it is found that, for a color sextet vector diquark, with the universal diagonal coupling between quark-diquark the LHC can rule out diquark mass of MD ~ 2.8 TeV with 1fb-1 data while the reach can become MD ~ 3.65 TeV with 10fb-1 for the basic selection cuts and the stronger pT cuts on the leading b-jet significantly improves the significance to MD ~ 3.25 and MD ~ 4.3 TeV for the corresponding integrated luminosities. We also find that the diquark mass can be as high as 5.5 TeV for 3a significance at 1fb-1 integrated luminosities with 400 GeV transverse momenta cut on the leading b-jet. In Chapter 3 spin-3/2 particle decaying to one of 4j, 2b2j and tt2j final states is considered. For the 4j final state it is shown that the strong transverse momentum cut on the leading light-jet significantly improves the signal significance. For 2b2j final state it is shown that the peak in the invariant mass distribution is more pronounced in the (b1j2) combination. It is also found that for 2b2j2l + $t final state from ttjj, with the stronger pT cuts on the light jets; (i) the reach can be extended above 500 GeV at 8 TeV, (ii) at 14 TeV the signal is observable with spin-3/2 quark mass as high as 1000 GeV with 200fb-1 integrated luminosity. In the last Chapter 4 we showed that the minimal extra dimensional (mUED) model can not explain the latest LHC Higgs results. However, non-minimal UED (nmUED) can explain it with suitable choice of the extra parameters. We used ATLAS multijet plus missing transverse momenta search to constrain this model and obtained that the strongest bound is 2.1 TeV for the equal mass level-1 KK quark and gluons. Another conclusion in this chapter is that multijet plus missing transverse momenta signal in nmUED is very similar to that of Supersymmetry.
