The role of attention allocation on perceptual grouping has been previously examined in several studies. Some the studies concluded that attention allocation had no effect on perceptual grouping performance, while others suggested perceptual grouping required attention. In addition other studies suggested that attention may partially affect perceptual grouping ability. Studies conducted in this area all used artificial stimuli. Here we examined if perceptual grouping performance suffered from reduced attentional resources, while using natural viewing conditions. We presented single and dual task conditions and measured reaction times. We concluded that attention played an important role on perceptual grouping in three and five actor conditions. Results from overall comparison of single vs. dual task conditions showed that attention allocation even played a more important role on perceptual grouping ability.
