ABSTRACT Apprenticeship Education, Formal Technical and Vocational Education (both at schools and enterprises) and Nonformal technical and Vocational Education are the subsystems of Turkish Technical and Vocational Education. The aim of this study is the integration of5 the every kind of application of technical and vocational education, because, technological, economical, social, industrial and educational reasons and globalisation processes have been forcing this integration. In relation to the required necessities and possibilities of this integration? several national and international literature has been examined, the viewpoints of 175 technical teachers who are responsible for technical and vocational education at four schools and four apprenticeship centers in Ankara have been collected via a special questionaire and the opinions of 10 faculty members who are teaching in Faculty of Technical Education of Ankara Gazi University, and Faculty of Educational Sciences of Ankara University, and opinions of 15 staff who are working in Ministry of National Education as administrator responsible for technical and vocational education have been collected as“expert opinion”by using a special interwiev form. According to the data gathered from these three sources, thesis report has been prepared. The recommendations indicated in this report which are related to technical and vocational education have been developed. As a summary, the proposed recommendations are as fol lows; Technical and vocational education should begin with a broad basic education, Its aims and contents should be the same at every form of application, Its educational program should be integrated and articulated each other, Its educational facilities should be used together, The beginning age and educational situation of apprenticeship should be determined according to the content of the related occupation, Its curriculum development process should be coord inated, Some additional researches are to be made for improving and developing the technical and vocational system as a whole. 114
