Özet
Bu araştırmanın amacı ilkokul birinci sınıf öğrencilerine yönelik görsel okuma eğitim programının yapılandırılması ve etkililiğinin sınanmasıdır. Ayrıca okul öncesi eğitim alma, cinsiyet, anne-baba çalışma durumu, bilgisayar kullanma ve televizyon izleme sıklığı gibi değişkenlerin öğrencilere verilen eğitimin düzeyini etkileyip etkilemediği incelenmiştir. Araştırmada, verileri toplamak amacı ile Obalar (2009) tarafından geliştirilen Görsel Okuma Ölçeği ve araştırmacı tarafından yapılandırılan Kişisel Bilgi Formu kullanılmıştır. Araştırma iki bölümden oluşmuştur. Birinci bölümde nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden“Tarama Deseni”, ikinci bölümde ise deneysel model olarak,“Kontrol Gruplu Ön ve Son Test Modeli”kullanılmıştır. Birinci bölümde veri toplama araçları, 207 öğrenciye uygulanmış ve bu bölümden elde edilen veriler; değişkenlere ilişkin bulguların elde edilmesinde ve deneysel çalışmayı oluşturacak grupların eşitlenmesinde kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın deneysel bölümü, ilkokul birinci sınıfa devam eden 32 öğrenci üzerinde yürütülmüştür. Bu çocukların 16'sı deney, 16'sı ise kontrol grubunu oluşturmuştur. Deney grubunda yer alan 16 çocuğa, 20 oturumdan oluşan“Görsel Okuma Eğitim Programı”10 hafta süre ile uygulanmıştır. Kontrol grubundaki çocuklara ise herhangi bir eğitim verilmemiştir. Verilerin analizinde, Bağımsız Grup t testi, Non-Parametrik Mann Whitney U, Non-parametrik Wilcoxon Z, Non-parametrik Kruskal-Wallis, Tek Boyutlu Varyans Analizi (ANOVA) ve Post-Hoc Tamhane's testi kullanılmıştır. Sonuçlar SPSS Sosyal Bilimler İstatistik Programı ile değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre“Görsel Okuma Eğitim Programı”uygulanan deney grubunun görsel okuma düzeyleri, görsel okuma eğitimi verilmeyen kontrol grubuna göre anlamlı düzeyde yüksek bulunmuştur. Ayrıca okul öncesi eğitim alma, bilgisayar kullanma ve televizyon izleme sıklığı değişkenlerine göre sonuçların anlamlı, cinsiyet, ailesi tarafından resimli kitap okuma ve anne baba çalışma durumuna göre ise sonuçların anlamlı olmadığı belirlenmiştir.

The aim of the present study is to develop a visual reading training program for the first grade students at primary schools and to test its effectiveness. In addition, it was examined whether such variables as the pre-school education, gender, parents' work status, the frequency of computer use and watching television affect the level of training provided to the students. In the study, Visual Reading Scale developed by Obalar (2009) and a personal information form developed by the researcher were administered. The study consists of two sections: In the first section“Survey Design”and for the second section“Pre- and Post-test Model with a control group”were used. In the first section, data collection tools were implemented to 207 students and the data gathered within this section were used with an aim to obtain data with respect to the variables and to equalize the groups that comprises the experimental group. The experimental section of the research was conducted on the 32 first grade students. 16 students were assigned to the control group and 16 students were assigned to the experimental group. During a period of 10 weeks,“Visual Reading Training Program”, a 20- session training program, was conducted to 16 students as the experimental group. However, no training was conducted to the control group. For the data analysis, independent samples t test, Non-Parametric Mann Whitney U, Non-Parametric Wilcoxon Z, Non-Parametric Kruksal-Wallis, one way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), and Post-Hoc Tamhane's test were used. Results were analyzed with SPSS the statistical program Social Sciences. According to the research results, the visual reading level of the experimental group that the“Visual Reading Training Program”applied was significantly higher than the control group that did not get the training. Besides, the regarding the variables of pre-school education, the frequency of computer use and watching television the results were significant; however, the variables of gender, parents' reading picture books, and parents' work status do not reflect any significant results.
