Özet
Bu tezin amacı tutkuların doğasını incelemektir. Temel bir yaşam kategorisi olarak tutkular hakkında çok sayıda filozof araştırma yapmış olmakla birlikte bu çalışmada David Hume felsefesinden hareket edilecektir. Bunun için öncelikle tutkuları açıklamaya yarayacak olan zihnin parçaları ele alınmıştır. Böylelikle bir bütün halinde tutkulara giden yolun imkânları da açılmış olacaktır. Tutkuları açıklama işine girmeden evvel zihnin temel yetilerini ele almanın sebebi ise bu bilginin kaynağını inceleyerek tutkulara dair bilgisel araştırmanın yolunu açmaktır. Bunun için de Hume'un, felsefesinde bir başlangıç noktası olarak gördüğü algılardan işe başlanacaktır. Görülecektir ki bu tez tutkuların parçalarını çoğaltmak yerine onların derin bir incelemesini tercih eder. Bu türden bir araştırmayla Hume'un tutkulara dair kurmuş olduğu terminoloji açıklığa kavuşturulacaktır. Bu terminolojiyi anlamanın yolları ise Hume'un algı dizgesinde belirir. Böylelikle algılar üzerinden başlayan çalışma tutkulara varacak ve bunlar üzerine olan tartışmalarla son bulacaktır.

The aim of this thesis is to examine the nature of passions. Beside these passions seeming as a fundemental category that has been researched by many philosophers, in this work the starting point will be David Hume philosophy as well. For this, firstly the parts of mind had been tackled that services to explain them. Thus, the way of all going to passions will be opened with that. Before explaining the passions, the reason of explaining the faculities of mind firstly is the blief that it would not be solved without them. For this reason, perception that is the origin in Hume's philosophy will be the starting point. Here with this thesis rather than to copy the passions that prefers to examine it deeply. With kind of this examination, founded as to passions the terminology by Hume will be clarified. The way of understanding of this terminology that appears in Hume's perception system. Thus, the examination that starts with perceptions reaches up to passions and will end up with some arguments on these passions.
