Özet
Bu çalışma ile Video-Temelli Öğrenme yönteminin, lise öğrencilerin İngilizce dersi başarısına olan etkisi araştırılmıştır. Bununla birlikte öğrencilerin video temelli öğretime ilişkin memnuniyetleri de alınmıştır. Çalışmanın gerçekleştiği yer Haydarpaşa Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesi'dir. Araştırma sürecinde öntest - sontest kontrol gruplu deneysel desen seçilmiştir. Çalışma grupları 30'ar kişilik onuncu sınıf öğrencilerinden oluşmaktadır. Bu iki grup seçilirken, çalışma öncesinde sunulan İngilizce seviye testinde benzer başarı gösteren 10-A ve 10-B sınıfları seçilmiştir. Her iki grup için uygulanan öntestler sonrasında 10-A deney grubunda video temelli öğretim yöntemi, seçmeli yöntemden yararlanılarak kullanılmış; ardından da sontestler yoluyla her iki grubun gelişimi karşılaştırılmıştır. Öğrencilerin memnuniyet düzeyleri yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme ile belirlenmiştir. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgulara göre; video temelli öğretim uygulanan sınıfta, ders kitabı kulanarak öğretim gören 10-B sınıfına göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklılık olmasına rağmen başarı puanlarının deney grubu lehine daha yüksek olduğu görülmüştür. Ayrıca, öğrenci görüşmelerinde video temelli eğitimin daha motive edici ve eğlendirici olduğu gözlemlenmiştir. Gerekli yöntemlerle birleştirilerek, video temelli öğrenme yöntemi her sınıf ortamında kullanılabilir ve dil öğretmenleri tarafından tavsiye edilebilir.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of Video-Based Learning (VBL) in English language teaching on high school students and to demostrate the learners' satisfaction with video-based instruction. The study was conducted in Haydarpaşa Technical and Vocational High School. In this research, pretest-posttest control group experimental research design has been preferred. The studygroups are both two tenth-grade classes of thirty students. The two groups chosen for the study are the classes of 10-A and 10-B for they scored almost equally in a written English assessment test. Implementing the pretests for each group, the experimental group 10-A has been taught with video-based learning method using Eclectic Approach by the researcher for three weeks; followed by the posttests to compare the improvement. The learners' satisfaction has been concluded using the semi-structured interview. On the basis of the results of this research; the success of the video-based learning group has been rated higher than the coursebook based learning group 10-B, yet a statistically significant difference has not been found. On the other hand, the output of the student interviews has proved the video-based learning to be more motivating and fun. Combining with the relevant methods, the Video-based Learning can be used in every classroom environment, and adviced by language educators.
