Özet
Bu tezin amacı Hyperuzay teorisi ve bu uzay üzerinde tanımlı Whitney dönüşüm diye adlandırılan dönüşümü incelemektir. Öncelikle, keyfi bir compactum (tıkız metrik uzay) için Whitney dönüşümün varlığına baktık. Sonra, Whitney dönüşüm kullanılarak kurulan Whitney özellikler ve bunların bazı türlerine odaklandık. Bu gerçekten oldukça önemli çünkü bu özellikler $X$ in yapısını $C(X)$'in alt continualarının (subcontinua) üzerine taşımak için bir araç olacaktır \citep{JC&WC}. Dahası, ters taşımayı yapabilmek için yani $C(X)$'i $X$'in üzerine taşımak için Whitney terslenebilir özelliği kullandık \citep{JC&WC}. Bu tez altı bölümden oluşmaktadır. Birinci bölümde, hyperuzayların genel tarihçesinden bahsettik, takip eden bölüm tezimizde kullanılan temel tanımlar ve teoremlere ayrılmıştır. Üçüncü bölümde, hyperuzayların temel özellikleri verildi. Ek olarak, hyperuzaylar üzerinde Vietories topolojisi adı verilen topolojiden bahsettik. Dahası, Hausdorff metrik tanımı verdik ve gördük ki eğer $X$ compactum (tıkız metrik uzay) ise Hausdorff metric tarafından üretilen topoloji ile Vietories topojisi denktir. Dördüncü bölümde, Whitney dönüşüm tanımı verildi ve Whitney dönüşümün kuruluşuna ve varlığına odaklanıldı. Beşinci bölüm, Whitney özellikler ve bazı ilişkili kavramlara adanılmıştır.

The purpose of this dissertation is to investigate the Hyperspace theory and the map defined on that space which is called Whitney map. Firstly, we take a look existence of Whitney map for any hyperspaces of compactum. After that, we focus on Whitney properties and some types of these properties constructed in using Whitney map. This is indeed so important because we use these properties as a tool to carry from a continuum of $X$ onto the hyperspace $C(X)$ of its subcontinua \citep{JC&WC}. Moreover, to be able to reverse carrying, that is, the ones carried from $C(X)$ onto $X$ itself \citep{JC&WC}, we use the Whitney Reversible property. This dissertation consists of six sections. In the first one, we mention about general history of Hyperspaces, and the following section dedicate to fundamental definitions and theorems used in our dissertations. In the third section, we give some basic properties of Hyperspace. In addition to that we mention about topology on the hyperspaces which is called Vietoris Topology. Moreover, we give definition of Hausdorff metric and we see that if $X$ is a compactum, then the Vietoris topology is the same as the topology given by the Hausdorff metric. In the fourth one, we give definition of Whitney map and we focus on the construction and existence of Whitney map. The fifth section is to dedicate to Whitney properties and some related notions.
