Özet
Bu çalışma lojistik performansın doğrudan yabancı sermaye yatırımları, teknoloji ve rekabetçilik aracılığıyla ekonomik büyüme üzerinde neden, nasıl ve ne derece bir etki getirdiğini araştırmıştır. Araştırma, Lojistik Performans Endeksi (LPE), Doğrudan Yabancı Sermaye Yatırımları (DYSY), Patentler (PATENT), Küresel Rekabetçilik Endeksi (KRE) ve Gayrisafi Yurt İçi Hasıla (GSYİH) boyutlarından oluşmaktadır. Boyutlar arası ilişkilere göre geliştirilen hipotezler, 28 AB-Türkiye Gümrük Birliği ülkelerini kapsayan bölgesel ölçekte ve 98 ülkeyi kapsayan global ölçekte, 2007-2010-2012 yıllarına ait veri setinin standardize edilmiş ortalamaları ile Yapısal Eşitlik Modeli Yol Analizi, Regresyon ve Sobel yöntemleri kullanılarak istatistiksel test ve analiz edilmiştir. Test ve analiz sonuçlarına göre, LPE'nin KRE'yi direkt etkilediği anlamlı bulunmuştur. LPE'nin GSYİH, KRE'nin GSYİH, DYSY'nin KRE ve PATENTin KRE üzerindeki direkt etkisi anlamlı bulunmamıştır. LPE'nin GSYİH'yı, DYSY ve PATENT üzerinden dolaylı etkilediği anlamlı bulunmuştur. DYSY ve PATENT'in herbirinin, bağımsız değişken LPE ile bağımlı değişken GSYİH arasında tam ara değişken olduğu anlamlı bulunmuştur. PATENT'in, bağımsız değişken DYSY ile bağımlı değişken GSYİH arasında kısmi ara değişken rolü anlamlı bulunmuştur. DYSY ve PATENT'in herbirinin, GSYİH'yi direkt etkilediği, LPE bağımsız değişkeninin DYSY ve PATENT ara değişkenleri üzerinde direkt bir etkisi olduğu anlamlı bulunmuştur. Bölgesel ölçekte ulaşılan bulgular, Global ölçekte de aynı yöndedir. Sonuç olarak, ülkelerin lojistik performansı yükseldikçe, rekabet gücü artacak, doğrudan yabancı sermaye yatırımları ve teknoloji gelişerek ekonomik büyüme olumlu etkilenecektir.

This study aims to find out why, how and to what extent logistics performance impacts economic growth via competitiveness, foreign direct investment and technology. The research consists of Logistics Performance Index (LPI), Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), Patents (PATENT), Global Competitiveness Index (GCI) and Gross Domestic Product (GDP) dimensions. The relationships amongst the dimensions were statistically tested and analyzed via Structural Equation Modeling Path Analysis, Regression, Sobel method for the period of 2007-2010-2012 by a standardized and averaged dataset based on a regional scale of 28 EU-Turkey Customs Union countries and on a global scale of 98 countries. As a result of the test and analysis, the direct effects of LPI's on GCI were found significant. The direct effects of LPI on GDP, GCI on GDP, FDI on GCI and PATENT on GCI were not found significant. Indirect effects of LPI on GDP through FDI and PATENT were found significant. The full mediator variable roles of both FDI and PATENT between the independent variable LPI and the dependent variable GDP were found significant. The partial mediator variable role of PATENT between the independent variable FDI and the dependent variable GDP was found significant. The direct effects of both FDI and PATENT separately on GDP were found significant. The direct effects of the independent variable LPI on mediator variables FDI and PATENT were found significant. The findings of both the regional scale and the global scale are in the same direction. In conclusion, this study affirms that the development of logistics performance places positive effects on competitiveness, foreign direct investment and technology resulting in an higher economic growth.
