Özet
Havza (Samsun) yöresindeki temel ve örtü birimlerinin stratigrafisini konu alan bu çalışmada; yörenin jeolojisinin ve stratigrafisinin ayrıntılı olarak tanımlanmasına yönelik yeni veriler elde etmek ve/veya bölgede daha önce yapılmış olan çalışmalara bir katma değer yaratmak bu çalışmanın birincil hedefini oluşturmaktadır. Pontid Tektonik Kuşağı stratigrafik açıdan oldukça ilginç ve karmaşık bir yapıya sahiptir. Pontid Kıtasında yer alan inceleme alanında karasal ve denizel örtü birimlerinin de oldukça çeşitli olduğu bilinmektedir. Planlanan ve önerilen bu çalışmada birimlere detay yaş verilmesi ve stratigrafinin de bu detay yaşlara göre kurgulanması, bu yolla çalışma alanının, Orta Pontid bölgesindeki jeolojik ve stratigrafik konumunun yorumlanmaya çalışılmıştır. Çalışma alanında Permo-Triyas yaşlı temel üzerinde yeralan denizel örtü birimleri Liyas'tan başlayarak Üst Eosen'e kadar uzanan bir istif sunmaktadırlar. Mesozoyik yaşlı istifte Alt-Üst Kretase arasındaki uyumsuzluk dışında; bölgedeki denizin yer yer alçalıp yükselmesine bağlı olarak gelişen az çok belirgin bir hyatüsün varlığına karşın kayda değer bir lakünün gözlenmediği hemen hemen kesiksiz bir görünümde oldukları gözlenmiştir. Mesozoyik üzerine Laramiyen Orojenez'inin etkisiyle uyumsuz olarak gelen Senozoyik istifleri Paleosen'den Üst Eosen'e kadar bir seri halinde temsil edilirler. Paleosen ile Eosen arasında belirlenen uyumsuzluğun ise yerel düzeyde olduğu düşünülen bölgede Üst Eosen'de volkanik etkinliğin arttığı gözlenmektedir. Bölgede, karasal örtü birimleri Pliyosen yaşlı birimlerle Kuvaterner yaşlı güncel oluşuklardan oluşmaktadır.

In this study, which deals with the stratigraphy of basement and cover units in the basin (Samsun) region; to obtain new data for the detailed description of the geology and stratigraphy of the region and/or to create a value added to the previously work done in the region is the primary objective of this work. The Pontide Tectonic Belt has a very interesting and complex structure in terms of stratigraphy. It is known that the terrestrial and marine cover units are quite diverse in the study area located along the Pontide. In this study planned and proposed is objective to given the detail age for the units, to create the stratigraphy according to the ages. Thus, the interpretation of the geological and stratigraphic position of the study area is considered in the Central Pontide region. In the study area, the marine cover units located on Permo-Triassic aged basement present a sequence starting from Liassic to Upper Eocene. Except for the incompatibility between Lower and Upper Cretaceous, Despite the presence of a more or less apparent hyatus, which developed in part due to the lowering and rising of the sea in the region, it was observed that the Mesozoic aged sequence was almost un interrupted in appearance, with no appreciable the lacunal. Cenozoic sequences from Mesozoic to the Upper Eocene are represented in a series from the Paleocene to the Upper Eocene, unconformably overlain by Laramian Orogenesis. The inconsistency between Paleocene and Eocene is thought to be at local level. In the Upper Eocene, where volcanic activity is increased in the region, terrestrial cover units are composed of Pliocene units and Quaternary aged formations.
