Özet
Amaç: Bu araştırma sağlık bilimleri öğrencilerinin maneviyat ve manevi bakım algılarının incelenmesi amacıyla yapıldı. Gereç ve Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı tipte olan bu araştırmanın evrenini bir vakıf üniversitesinin sağlık bilimleri fakültesinde eğitim gören Beslenme ve Diyetetik, Çocuk Gelişimi, Fizyoterapi ve Rehabilitasyon, Hemşirelik ve Sağlık Yönetiminden toplam 1382 öğrenci oluşturdu. Araştırmada örneklem seçimine gidilmedi, araştırmaya katılmayı kabul eden öğrenciler araştırma kapsamına alındı. Araştırmanın verileri 03-08 Ocak 2018 tarihleri arasında toplandı ve 857 öğrenci ile araştırma tamamlandı. Veriler“Bireysel Bilgi Formu”ve“Maneviyat ve Manevi Bakım Dereceleme Ölçeği”ile toplandı. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde SPPS 24.0 istatistik paket programı kullanıldı. Bulgular: Araştırma kapsamına alınan öğrencilerin yüzde 37,7'sinin Beslenme ve Diyetetik bölümünde oldukları, yüzde 23'ünün 20 yaşında ve yüzde 84,7'sinin kadın olduğu bulundu. Sınıf bazında incelendiğinde yüzde 27,4'nün 3. sınıfta öğrenim gördüğü, yüzde 77,2'sinin maneviyat ile ilgili eğitim almadığı, eğitim alan öğrencilerin çoğunluğunun aldıkları maneviyat eğitimini yeterli buldukları belirlendi. Araştırmada tüm öğrencilerin“Maneviyat ve Manevi Bakım Destek Ölçeği”toplam puan ortalaması 53,600 ± 9,589, olarak bulundu. Öğrencilerin bulundukları bölüm ve yaş değişkenine göre ölçek puan ortalamaları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı (p>0.05) fark yoktu. Bölümlerin kendi sınıfları arasında birinci sınıftan son sınıfa kadar olan öğrencilerin ölçek puan ortalamaları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı (p<0.05) fark vardı. Maneviyat ile ilgili eğitim alan ile eğitim almayan öğrencilerin ölçek puan ortalamaları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı (p<0.05) fark vardı. Sonuç olarak; Çalışma, öğrencilerin maneviyat ve manevi bakım ilişkin ortalamanın üzerinde bir algıya sahip oldukları fakat yeterli düzeyde bilgi almadığı ve eğitimin gerekli olduğunu göstermektedir. Eğitim kurumlarında manevi bakım konusunda derslerin verilmesi, öğrencilerin bu konudaki eksik bilgilerinin giderilmesi önerilmektedir.

Aim: This study was conducted to examine the spirituality and spiritual care perceptions of health science students. Materials and Methods: The population of this descriptive study consists of a total of 1382 students studying at the Nutrition and Dietetics, Child Development, Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, Nursing and Health Management departments of the Health Sciences Faculty at a foundation university. No sample selection was applied and only the students who volunteered to participate was involved in the study sample. The data collection phase of the study was completed between January 03 and 08, 2018 with 857 students. Data were collected through the“Personal Information Form”and the“Spirituality and Spiritual Care Rating Scale”. SPPS 24.0 statistical package program was used for data analyses. Findings: 37.7 per cent of the students who participated in the study were from the Nutrition and Dietetics department, 23 percent were at the age of 20 and 84.7 percent were female. When the data was analyzed based on grades, it was found that 27.4 percent of the participants were studying at the 3rd grade, 77.2 percent did not get any education on spirituality and most of the students who did get education on spirituality found it sufficient. In the study, the mean score of“Spirituality and Spiritual Care Support Scale”of all participants was found as 53.600±9.589. No statistically significant difference was found (p>0.05) between the mean scores based on the department and age variables. Statistically significant (p<0.05) differences were found between the grade years of each department in the scale mean scores of students from the freshman year to the final year. There was a statistically significant (p<0.05) difference between the mean scores of students who did and did not get spiritual education. In conclusion, the study shows that students have a perception of spirituality and spiritual care that is above average, yet they are not informed about the matter adequately and thus, more education is necessary. It is suggested that courses on spiritual care are offered at educational institutions so that students' deficiency at this matter is supplemented.
