Özet
Bu araştırmada Borsa İstanbul (BIST) sürdürülebilirlik endeksinde yer alan imalat sanayi işletmelerinin 2014-2017 yılları arasında ekonomik, çevresel, sosyal, toplam sürdürülebilirlik ve finansal performansları incelenmiş, bu sürdürülebilirlik boyutlarının her birinin finansal performans üzerindeki etkisi belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Çalışmanın ilk bölümünde sürdürülebilirlik ve kurumsal sürdürülebilirlik kavramları, sürdürülebilir kalkınma kavramının tarihsel gelişimi, kurumsal sürdürülebilirliğin temel bileşenlerine değinilmiş ve sürdürülebilirlik kavramının işletmeler için önemi vurgulanmıştır. Çalışmanın ikinci bölümünde kurumsal raporlama finansal ve finansal olmayan raporlama araçları üzerinden incelenmiştir. İşletmelerin kurumsal raporlamada kullandığı en yeni araçlar olan sürdürülebilirlik raporlaması ve entegre raporlama açıklamalarına yer verilmiştir. Çalışmanın üçüncü bölümünde kurumsal sürdürülebilirlik performans ölçümüne, finansal performans ölçümüne ve kurumsal sürdürülebilirlik ile finansal performans arasındaki ilişkiyi inceleyen literatür araştırmasına yer verilmiştir. Çalışmanın son bölümü olan uygulama bölümünde ise endekste yer alan imalat işletmelerinin belirlenen göstergeler üzerinden ekonomik, sosyal, çevresel, toplam sürdürülebilirlik ve finansal performansları İçerik Analizi, Entropi, TOPSIS ve Oran analizi yöntemleri kullanılarak hesaplanmış ve işletmeler için her bir boyutta puanlara ulaşılmıştır. Sürdürülebilirlik ve alt boyutları olan ekonomik, çevresel ve sosyal performans puanları, finansal performans puanları ile karşılaştırılmış ve performans boyutları arasındaki ilişki değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırmanın bulgularına bakıldığında yıllar itibariyle işletmelerin sürdürülebilirlik performans boyutları ile finansal performansları arasında farklı sonuçlara ulaşılmıştır. Genel bir değerlendirme yapıldığında işletmelerin ekonomik, sosyal, çevresel ve toplam sürdürülebilirlik performanslarına ilişkin başarılarının finansal performanslarına tam olarak yansıdığını söylemek mümkün değildir. İşletmelerin sürdürülebilirlik performans puanları ile finansal performans puanları genel olarak aynı doğrultuda hareket etmemiştir.

In this study, economic, environmental, social, total sustainability and financial performance of manufacturing industry enterprises included in the Borsa Istanbul (ISE) Sustainability Index were analysed between 2014 and 2017, and the impact of each of these sustainability dimensions on financial performance was tried to be objectified. For this purpose, in the first part of the study, sustainability and corporate sustainability concepts, historical development of sustainable development, basic components of corporate sustainability were mentioned, and the importance of sustainability concept for enterprises was emphasized. In the second part of the study, corporate reporting was analysed by means of financial and non-financial reporting tools. The latest tools used by enterprises in corporate reporting such as sustainability reporting and integrated reporting are explained. The third part of the study is made up of the institutional sustainability performance measurement, financial performance measurement and a comprehensive literature review which focuses on the relationship between institutional sustainability and financial performance. In the final part of the study, the economic, environmental and social performance and total sustainability of the enterprises indexed were calculated using Content Analysis, Entropy, TOPSIS and Ratio analysis methods, and scores of all sizes were obtained for the enterprises based on the indicators determined by the manufacturing enterprises in the index. Sustainability and its sub-dimensions like economic, environmental and social performance scores were compared with financial performance scores and the relationship between performance dimensions were evaluated. Considering the findings of the research, different results were obtained between the sustainability performance dimensions of enterprises and their financial performance. However, the overall assessment indicates that it is not possible to conclude that the success of enterprises in the performance of economic, social, environmental and total sustainability is fully reflected in their financial performance. Enterprises' sustainability performance scores and financial performance scores generally do not act in the same direction.
