Özet
Bu çalışmanın amacı, 1909 – 1929 yılları arasında altın çağını yaşayan, dönemin özellikle Batı toplumlarını sanatın her alanında etkisi altına almış bir bale topluluğu olan Ballet Russes'ın, moda üzerinde bıraktığı devrimsel nitelikte yenilikleri irdelemek ve 20. yüzyıldan günümüze Batı toplumlarında moda ile etkileşimlerini incelemektir. Bu doğrultuda birinci bölümde Ballet Russes topluluğunu tanıyabilmek için öncelikli olarak kısaca bale sanatına değinilmiştir. Kurucuları emprezaryo Sergei Diaghilev tanıtılmış, topluluğun oluştuğu dönem koşulları ve benimsediği oryantalizm akımının etkisi irdelenmiştir. Çalışmanın ikinci bölümünde de tezin ana konusu olan Ballet Russes ve modanın direkt ve dolaylı yollardan etkileşimlerini örneklerle göstererek; geçmişten günümüze giyim modasına büyük etki ettiği, sık sık ilham kaynağı olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır. Son bölümde ise Ballet Russes'ın en parlak dönemindeki kostümlerinin genel özelliklerinden ilham alarak oluşturulmuş, özgün haute couture kıyafet tasarımlarının illüstrasyonları sunulacaktır.

The aim of this study is to examine the revolutionary innovations of Ballet Russes, a ballet ensemble that lived its golden age between 1909 and 1929 and has influenced especially the Western societies of the period in every field of art and to examine the interactions with fashion in the Western societies from the 20th century to the present. In this respect, in order to recognize Ballet Russes, in the first part, ballet art is described. Sergei Diaghilev, one of the founders of the empire, is introduced and the conditions of the period and the effect of the orientalism movement he adopted are examined. In the second part, the main subject of the thesis is to present examples of Ballet Russes and its interaction with fashion in direct and indirect ways and to conclude that; from past to present it has a large impact on clothing fashion and is often a source of inspiration. In the last section, illustrations of original haute couture dress designs, inspired by the general characteristics of the costumes of Ballet Russes' most brilliant era, will be presented.
