Özet
90 3. After determining that, germination rate increased as the embryo length increased, it was found out that survival ratio and whole plant forming ratio were affected by male or female parent (cultivar) used in the crosses, nutrient medium, and the interaction of these two factors, when the trials were established only with the embryos obtained from the 2nd and the 3rd racemes, in the crosses with L. pimpinellifolium. 4. Generally speaking, the embryos obtained from the reciprocal crosses between L. pimpinellifolium and Ontairo 7710 gave the highest ratios of survival and whole plant formation, whereas those obtained from the crosses with cv. Tivoli gave the lowest. 5. Both survival and whole plant forming ratios of embryos obtained from the crosses with L. pimpinellifolium were higher in DMS medium compared with HLH medium. 6. The interaction between the cultivars used as male or female parent in the trials and nutrient medium also affected the survival and whole plant forming ratios. In general, the embryos obtained from the crosses with Ontario 7710 and P. 19 gave the best result on DMS medium. Nevertheless, Ontario 7710 x HLH combination also determined to have high survival ratio, when L. pimpinellifolium was the female parent. 7. When the plantlets obtained after the crosses with L. pimpinellifolium were taken to outdoor conditions at 2 different stages, it was observed that the transfer of plantlet at smaller stage gave better result. With an overall view, almost all cultivars had an adaptation rate of over 50%. 8. No fruit could be obtained from the crosses in which L. peruvianum was the female parent; fruit may be obtained when it was the male parent, but the seeds aborted. The diameter of these fruits and the size of the excised seeds were measured, and a correlation was determined between them. Seed size also increased as the fruit diameter increased. This shows us the viability in this type of seeds goes on. 9. Attempt was made to obtain plantlets from the seeds whose embryos were aborted, due to the reasons stated beforehand. In the first trial carried out with this purpose, 140 seeds whose embryos were aborted were cultured and in the second 178 such seeds were cultured. Nearly two months after the culture of seeds on the medium reported by Thomas and Pratt (1981); and at the end of the cytological observation, 10% diploid, 5.7% triploid plants were determined in the first trial, and 12.4% diploid, 8.4% triploid in the second. In these trials, the seeds obtained from the crosses using cvs. Ontario 771091 and P. 19 were again determined to give good result. According to these results, this method was determined as promising with respect to obtaining hybrid plant in the interspecific crosses of L. esculentum x L. pemviannm.90 3.
