Özet
Bireyin tarih boyunca tek ve mutlak bir tanım olarak kalmadığı kabulüyle bireyciliği tartışan bu çalışmada modernlik süreci, romanlarda tezahür eden bireycilik biçimleri üzerinden değerlendirilmektedir. Bireycilik kendiyle olduğu kadar dünyayla ilişkiyi de ifade ettiğinden, klasik modernliğin geçirdiği dönüşüm hikayesi onun da başından geçmektedir. Bu doğrultuda modern bireyin ortaya çıkışı Rönesans, 18. yüzyıl Aydınlanması, 19.yüzyılda klasik modernlik ve 20.yüzyılda modernliğin eleştirisi şeklindeki aşamalarla incelenmektedir. Burada 19.yüzyıldaki modern söylemle bütünleşmiş bireyciliğin yerini 20. yüzyılda ona uyumsuz bir tipleme almakta ve geç modernliğin yeni bireyciliği“anti-bireyci”söylemle şekillenmektedir. Bu temel oluşturulduktan sonra çalışmanın üçüncü bölümünde Türk modernleşmesinin geçtiği dönemler üzerinden romanda bireyin konumu ve tipleştirilmesi irdelenmektedir. Türk romanı Osmanlı'da Batılılaşma hareketiyle birlikte doğarken bu sırada romanda alafrangalığa dayanan bir bireyci tipleme ortaya çıkmıştır. Anti-birey incelememiz bu tiplemeden başlamaktadır. Roman Erken Cumhuriyet döneminde ve 1950 sonrasında toplumsal bir araç olmaya devam ederken, romandaki bireyci tiplemenin serüveni de modernleşme bireyinin geçtiği yollardan fazla uzakta seyretmemiştir. Fakat modernleşmenin ideal tipini temsil eden örneklere başından beri alternatif bir birey tiplemesi eşlik etmiş ve gitgide belli bir ağırlık kazanmaya başlamıştır. Bu tipleme bize modernleşmenin başka bir yönünü anlatmaktadır. Türk romanındaki genel eğilimin aksine toplumcu değil bireyci nitelikler göstermekte, toplumun kolektif değerlerini yansıtıp onunla bütünleşmek yerine tam da ona karşı durmakta ve kendini ortak sağduyudan ayırarak bireyselliğini ifade etmektedir. Bu tarzdaki bireyci söylem bu çalışmada“anti-birey”tanımlamasıyla ifade edilmiştir. Çalışmanın tezi bu yeni bireyci tiplemenin 1980 sonrasında alternatif konumundan daha yerleşik bir kullanıma kayması üzerine kuruludur. Edebiyatta 1970, toplumsal dönüşümler açısından ise 1980 tarihleriyle temsil edilen tarihsel kırılmaya dayanarak bu çalışma bireyci romanın ve ondaki anti-bireyci değerlerin ağırlık kazanmasını konu almaktadır. Son bölümde 1970lerde, 1990larda ve 2000'lerda yayınlanmış toplamda beş roman incelenmiştir. Tutunamamış, eksik, uyumsuz bir birey temsiline dayanan bu romanlarda belli temalar üzerinden, paylaşılan anti-bireyci değerlere işaret edilmiştir.

This study deals with modernity through individualism. In the first and second section, the process of development of modernity, novel and individual in these periods, including Renaissance, Enlightenment, 19th century classical modernity and 20th century contemporary modernity are discussed. The classical image of modernity, which was captured in the 19th century, based on principles such as reason and progress, will be re-evaluated over what they left after the 20th century and the process will evolve into contemporary modernity.In the novel, in the direction of modernism an anti-individualist fiction depicting incompatible individuals and not integrated with the world in which they live will become widespread. In the following chapter, the position and typing of the individual in the novel are examined through the periods of Turkish modernization.Our study begins with the Ottoman modernization and refers to the novel in the Republican era. Then, after 1950 and after 1980 modernization is evaluated and the ideal type of individualism is mentioned.The study focuses on a historical break. This break in literary evaluations is based on 1970s with the emergence of individualist novel in the novel which is a socialist novel in the center for a long time. On the other hand, in the social studies, the evolving transformation of the individual with the increasing importance and the way he perceives modernity is shown after 1980s. In the last chapter, a total of five novels published in the 1970s, 1990s and 2010s were examined. The inner world of the individual and the rise of the novel describes the abstract modernist and postmodern novelist is expressed with the development in Turkey and selected works from the author is representing it. The post-1980 situation shows that modernity, the world, and the way we perceive the world are different. Individuals in the novels, in this period, the meaning-making process offers in anti-individualist fiction. Anti-individual identification is an important phenomenon in expressing individualism. After 1980, the anti-individual in the novel is a form of heroism, buried in the inner world, questioning rather than saving the world; in the inner world, trying to move away from the ordinary and ordinary life he saw in the society and civilization.
