Özet

Bu çalışmanı amacı tam sayıların çoklu temsillerle öğretiminin 7.sınıf öğrenci başarısına etkisi ve öğrenci görüşlerinin belirlenmesidir. Çalışmada yöntem olarak çoklu temsil etkinlikleriyle oluşturulan öğretimin öğrencilerin akademik başarısına etkisini ve öğrenci görüşlerinin belirlemeye yönelik yapılan eylem araştırması metodundan faydalanılmıştır. Çalışmada veri toplama araçları olarak açık uçlu 10 maddeden oluşan ön test- son test (Tam Sayılar Başarı Testi), yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu ve yapılandırılmamış gözlem notlarından yararlanılmıştır. Çalışma 2017-2018 eğitim öğretim yılında Düzce ili Merkez ilçesinde bulunan bir ortaokulda bulunan toplam 41 öğrenciden oluşan deney ve gruplarıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmada deney grubunda öğretim, çoklu temsil etkinlikleri ve MEB'in Aydın ve Gündoğdu (2014); Bağcı (2015) ve Güven'in (2014) ders kitapları dikkate alınarak hazırlanan çalışma yaprakları aracılığıyla ve kontrol grubundaysa MEB'in ders kitapları dikkate alınarak geleneksel öğretim yöntemleriyle toplam 5 hafta sürecek şekilde katılımcılarla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Uygulama sonucunda toplanan nicel veriler SPSS 22.0 paket programı ve nitel veriler ise betimsel analiz yöntemiyle yorumlanmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda deney ve kontrol gruplarının son test puanlarının analizi sonucunda deney grubu lehine yüksek oranda anlamlı bir farklılık çıktığı görülmüştür. Deney grubunda bulunan öğrencilerin sayma pulları hariç diğer çoklu temsil etkinliklerine katılmakta istekli oldukları, tam sayılar cetveli başta olmak üzere tam sayılar animasyonu ve sayı doğrusu çoklu temsillerinin öğrencilerin öğrenmelerinde onlara kolaylık sağladığı, dersi eğlenceli hale getirdiği, derse olan ilgiyi arttırdığı, onları motive ettiği gibi olumlu görüşlere sahip oldukları belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca öğrencilerin çoğu, sayı pulları çoklu temsilini anlamakta zorluk yaşadıkları, bu etkinlikte öğrencilerin zihinlerinin karıştığı gibi olumsuz görüşlere sahip oldukları tespit edilmiştir.

The aim of this study is to determine the effect of teaching of integers with multiple representations on 7th grade student achievement and student opinions. In this study, the method of action research was used to determine the effect of teaching created with multiple representation activities on students' academic achievement and student views. It was used that consisting of 10 open-ended items, which are pre-test, post-test (Whole Numbers Achievement Test) ,semi-structured interview form and unstructured observation notes as data collection tools. The study was carried out with a experimental group consist of 41 students in a secondary school that located in the central district of Düzce in the 2017-2018 academic year In the experimental group, it was conducted with taking the worksheets into consideration which were prepared from textbooks which are teaching ,multi-representation activities and MEB's Aydın and Gündoğdu (2014), Bağcı (2015) and Güven'in (2014) ,and in the control group, the textbooks of the MEB were taken into consideration and traditional teaching methods were conducted with the participants for a total of 5 weeks. The quantitative data that is collected after study were interpreted with SPSS 22.0 package program and the qualitative data were interpreted with descriptive analysis method. As a result of the study, it was seen that there was a high rate significant difference in favor of the experimental group as a result of the analysis of the post-test scores of the experimental and control groups. Students in the experimental group are willing to participate in other multi-representation activities except counting stamps, it has been identified that especially the integer scale, and the multiple representations of numbers provide convenience for students to learn, make the lesson fun, motivate them and increase their interest to the the lesson. It was also found that most of the students had difficulty in understanding the multiple representation of the number stamps, and in this activity students had negative opinions such as confusing them.
