Özet

98 BÖLÜM VII ÖZET Bu araştırma, Konya İl Merkezi'ndeki farklı sosyoekonomik seviyelerdeki ilkokullara devam eden 4. sınıf öğrencilerinin annelerinin kaygı düzeyleri ile bu öğrencilerin bağımlılık eğilimi, denetim odağı ve akademik basan durumları arasındaki ilişkileri belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Bu amaçla, Konya İl Merkezi'nde bulunan ilkokullar sosyo-ekonomik seviye ve bulundukları semtlere göre kendi aralarında kümelere ayrılmış, kümelendirilen bu okullar arasından üç farklı (üst-orta-alt) sosyo-ekonomik seviyeyi temsil eden birer ilkokul tesbit edilmiştir. Tesbit edilen bu ilkokulların 4. sınıf öğrencileri arasından seçkisiz (random) örnekleme yoluyla her bir okuldan 100'er öğrenci seçilerek toplam 300 öğrenci ve 300 anne araştırma kapsamı içerisine alınmıştır. Araştırmaya ait veriler, anne ve öğrencilere uygulanan ölçekler aracılığıyla elde edilmiştir. Annelerin kaygı düzeyleri Spielberger ve arkadaşları tarafından geliştirilen“Durumluk-Sürekli Kaygı Envanterinin”(State and Trait Anxiety Inventory STAI) sürekli kaygı bölümü ile ölçülmüştür. Öğrencilerin bağımlılık eğilimi Flanders, Anderson ve Amidon tarafından (1961) geliştirilmiş olan“Bağımlılık Eğilimi Ölçeği”ile, denetim odağı ise Nowicki ve Strickland tarafından 1973 yılında geliştirilmiş olan“Denetim Odağı Ölçeği”ile ölçülmüştür. Öğrencilerin akademik başarı durum göstergesi olarak yıl sonu sınıf geçme not ortalamalarından yararlanılmıştır. Ölçeklerden elde edilen puanlar, araştırmanın amacına denencelerin özelliğine göre bazılarında korelasyon (r), bazılarında ise F ve t testleri kullanılmıştır. Varyans analizi sonucunda en az.05 düzeyinde anlamlı çıkan F değerlerinin kaynağını bulmak için grupların ortalamaları arasındaki farkın önem kontrolü t testi ile yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın bulguları aşağıda özetlenmiştir.

102 SUMMARY The purpose of this research is to determine the between the student's locus of control, academic success and dependence tendency and the anxiety level of mothers whose children are 4tn grade students and attend the elemantary schools at the different socio-economic levels in the city center of Konya. The elementary schools in the city center of Konya have been parted in to groups according to their own socioeconomic levels and neighbourhoods; among these grouped schools, one each school that represents three different (upper-middle- lower) socioeconomic levels has been determined. Amorg 4tn grade students of those determined schools, totally 300 students and 300 mothers have been taken into the scope of the research with the method of random exemplification by choosing a hundred each students from each school. The data belonged to this research have been supplied by means of measures applied to mothers and students. The anxiety levels of mothers have been measured with the permarent anxiety part of“State and Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI)”which was improved by Spielberger and his friends. The students' dependence tendency has been measured by“the Scale of Dependence Tendency”which was improved by Flanders, Anderson and Amidon (1961), and the students' locus of control has been measured by“the Scale of Locus of Control”which was improved by Nowicki and Stricklan (1973). As the chart of the students' academic success, It was used the grade averages of passiny the class at the end of the academic year. The points provided from the scales according to the purpose of the research and the features of the tests, the corelation (r) has been used in some of them and the tests of F and t have been used in the others. As the result of the varience aralyze, in order to find the source of the F value which has been found reasonable at least at the level of.05, the importance control of the difference between the averages of the groups has been made by the test of“t”103 The foundings of the research have been summarized below: A) The Foundings related to the Socio-Economical Features of the Exemplification: The most of the mothers in this research are the elemantary school graduates. Among the seperation of the age groups the majority of the mothers in every three S.E.L groups is between 31 and 35 ages; In the upper S.E.L group, the number of mothers who are over 41 years old is more than the other two groups. The majority of the families show some certain differences according to the S.E.L groups from the aspect of the mounthly average income. When we examine the occupational situations of the mothers, the most of them are housewiveses on the other hand the number of working mothers is mostly in the upper S.E.L group. In the seperation of the Fathers' occupations, the majority is group of the officials with the middle income and the little business owners. B) The Foudings related to the Tests: 1) Foundings related to the relationships between the anxiety levels of mothers and the dependence tendency, locus of control and the student's academic success. a) A relationship between the anxiety levels of mothers and the students' dependence tendency has not been found reasonable. b) The existence of a relationship between the anxiety levels of mothers and the students' locus of control has not been supported. c) There is a considerably important relationship between the anxiety levels of mothers and the students' academic success. But this relationship contrasts with expectation, according to this founding the more anxiety the mothers have, the more academic success the students have.104 d) There is no reasonable relationship between the students' dependence tendency and the locus of control. e) There is a relationship between the students' dependence tendency and the academic success. But while this relationship is expected on the negative (-) way, it has been resulted in the positive (+) way. According to this result, the higher dependence tendency the students have, the higher academic success grades they get. f) r= 16 corelation between the students' locus of control and the academic success shows a negative (-) relationships between them. This result has supported the expectation from the test that is: it 1ms brought the idea of the higher the students' locus of control grades get, the lower the academic success grades get. 2) The Foundings related to the effect of S.E.L to the anxiety levels of mothers and to the students' dependence tendency and to their academic success: a) It has found that the points of the anxiety levels of mothers show some differences according to the S.E.L groups and that the source of this difference is the upper S.E.L. group. This result has Supponted the test that the upper S.E.L group mothers' grade averages of the anxiety levels are considerably higher than the middle and lower S.E.L group mothers' b) Grade averages of the students' dependence tendency are considerably high in the upper S.E.L group. c) It has been observed that the S.E.L isn't effective on the students' locus of control grades. d) It has been observed that the averages of the academic success grades diffirentiate, the students' academic success grades in the upper S.E.L group are higher than the grades in the middle and the lower S.E.L groups.105 3) The Foundings related to the effect of the students' sexes to the anxiely levels of mothers, to the students' dependence tendency, to the locus of control and to the academic success: a) There is no difference between the grade averages of the anxiety levels of mothers according to the students' sexes. Students' sexes do not affect the anxiety levels of mothers. b) There is no difference between grade averages of the dependence tendency according to the students' sexes. It has been observed that Girls' grade averages of dependence tendency are not considerably higher than the boys'. c) There is no difference between the grade averages of Girls' and Boys' locus of controls. d) Girls' grade averages of academic success haven't been found lower than the boys' as it was expected.
