Özet
Bu araştırma, üniversite öğrencilerinin özgüven ve sosyal uyum düzeylerini yaşadığı yer, cinsiyet, yaş ve çalışma durumu değişkenleri açısından karşılaştırmak amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak Öz-güven Ölçeği, Sosyal Uyum Kendini Değerlendirme Ölçeği ve araştırmacının hazırladığı Kişisel Bilgi Formu kullanılmıştır. Bu veri toplama araçları gerekli bilgilendirme metniyle birlikte internet ortamına aktarılmış ve katılımcıların internet üzerinden doldurması için kullanıma açılmıştır. Yaşları 18-29 arasında değişen 385 kişinin verileri çalışmaya uygun bulunmuş ve SPSS 21.0 istatistik programıyla analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmanın sonuçlarına göre ailesiyle veya yurtta yaşayan üniversite öğrencilerinin özgüven ve sosyal uyum düzeyleri arasında anlamlı bir fark bulunmamıştır. Bu durum cinsiyet değişkeniyle birlikte analiz edildiğinde de değişmemiştir. Öte yandan öğrencilerin yaşları ile özgüven ve sosyal uyum düzeyleri arasında anlamlı ve pozitif yönde bir ilişki bulunmuştur. Benzer şekilde öğrencinin bir işte çalışıyor olması ile özgüven düzeyi arasında anlamlı bir fark çıkmış fakat sosyal uyum ile arasında anlamlı bir fark bulunmamıştır. Son olarak sosyal uyum ve özgüven arasındaki ilişki incelenmiş ve pozitif yönde anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmuştur. Bu araştırma kapsamında özgüven ve sosyal uyumu etkileyen faktörlerin yaş ve çalışma durumu olduğu, ayrıca öğrencinin özgüveni arttıkça sosyal uyumunun arttığı sonucuna varılmıştır.

This study is carried out to compare the self-confidence and social compatibility levels of the university students depending on the place they live, their sexes, ages, and working conditions. Self-confidence scale, Social Adaptation Self-Evaluation Scale, and the researcher's personal information form have been used as the data collection tools. These data collection tools have been uploaded to a website on the internet together with the informative text so that participants had the chance to fill the related forms on the website. The data collected from 385 participants between the ages 18-29 is evaluated as proper for this research, and is analyzed by SPSS 21.0 statitical programme. According to the results of the research; no significant difference has been found between the university students who live with their families and the university students who live at dormitories in terms of their self-confidence and social cohesion levels. This result has not changed even when it is analyzed together with the sex variant. On the other hand, significant and positive relation has been found between the self-confidence, the social cohesion levels of the university students and their ages. Likewise a significant positive relation has been found between the self-confidence levels of the students and their working conditions. But no significant difference has been observed in terms of social compatibility levels of the students who have a job and the students who don't work. Finally the relation between social compatibility and self-confidence is studied and a positive significant relation is found. This research has shown us that the criterias that effect self-confidence and social compatibility levels are age and working condition, and that as the self-confidence levels of the students increase their social compatibility levels increase too.
