Özet

Son yıllarda hayatımızın önemli bir parçası haline gelen akıllı telefonların etkin kullanımından dolayı ortaya çıkan bir kavram olan nomofobinin Türkçe en kapsamlı karşılığı“akıllı telefonsuz kalma korkusu”dur. Bu çalışmanın amacı 8.sınıf öğrencilerinin nomofobi düzeyinin belirlenmesi ve öğrencilerin nomofobi düzeylerinin cinsiyet, genel not ortalaması, anne-baba eğitim durumu, anne-baba mesleği, ailenin aylık geliri gibi değişkenlere bağlı olarak değişip değişmediğini tespit etmektir. Çalışmaya 452 öğrenci (228 kız, 224 erkek) katılmıştır. Bu çalışmada nicel çalışma yöntemi uygulanmıştır. Veri toplam aracı olarak 'Demografik Bilgi Formu' ve Yıldırım ve Correia (2015) tarafından geliştirilen ''Nomofobi Ölçeği'' kullanılmıştır. Çalışma sonunda elde edilen bulgulara göre; öğrencilerin nomofobi düzeylerinin cinsiyete, genel not ortalamalarına, anne-baba eğitim durumu, anne-babanın sahip olduğu mesleğine ve ailenin elde ettiği aylık maddi miktarına göre farklılaşmadığı tespit edilmiştir.

Nomophobia, a newborn concept that has become an important part of our lives in recent years due to effective use of smart phones in daily life, can be defined as“fear of staying away from smart phones”. The aim of this study is to determine the nomophobia level of 8th grade students and to determine whether the nomophobia levels of the students differ according to the variables such as gender, general grade point average, parental education status, parental profession, and monthly income of the family. In this study, a quantitative research method was conducted. 'The Demographic Knowledge Form' and 'Nomophobia Scale' developed by Yıldırım and Correia (2015) were used as data collection tools. According to the findings; the nomophobia levels of 8th grade students did not change according to the gender of the students, the overall grade point average, the educational status of the parents, the profession of the parents and the monthly financial amount of the family.
