Özet (Çeviri)

My thesis this, which I intend to introduce to the department of“ History of Art and Islamic Architecture ”is for the intention of obtaining the master degree. This thesis is about“ The Syrian Minarets from The Omayd till the Othman period”. This research depends on the study of the first minarets in the Islamic designs and on the observance of its development according to its own art and design in Syria from the Omayd till the Ottoman age. Our aim in this research is to establish a catalogue for the Syrian minarets from the beginning till the Ottoman time, to classify it according to the historical ages, to study the effect of the geographical, on the shape of the minarets, to show the role of the Syrian minarets in architecture among the other islamic minarets and to show the effect of the Syrian minarets on the regional arts and the effect of these arts on it. The importance of this thesis is in showing the value of the minarets arts and architecture and the effect of the social historical, doctrinal and other elements on it. And I, in my turn, worked on studying the effect of these elements on the Syrian minarets and on its development according to its shape and architecture. When I starting working on my research, I did not find any documentation or deep study on the Syrian minarets for the period I was writting on. And the very few studies which I found for some European or American researchers weren't sufficient for the main goal; however it only confined in some parts of Aleppo and Damascus. On the other hand, The Turkish researchers made brief and surface studies on the Arabic Islamic Architecture. At first, I depended in my research on the available references which are related to my point of research and on notorizing it. Then, I visited the locations of the minarets, photoed it, studied the minarets according to its domain and what it is made from, and tried to study every foreign element entered the origin of these minarets and to specify the period these elements were entered. Then I made analysation to the minarets and classified it. And my research was classified into: 1- The study of the elements and materials from which the minarets are made. ( The base, Gawsat, Crescent, Turnte and the interial design ). 2- The study of the minarets decorative components and its properties.3- The study of the materials which formed the minarets and the special ways they were built in. And during my study, I reached many results: 1- The excistance of the effection of the regional and the geographical factors on the shape of the Syrian minarets. 2- The change of decoration and its development from one age to another. 3- The excistance of the differences in the shape of the base and its trunk between the Ayyowbi and the Memlowki eras. 4- The appearance of many differences in the design between the Syrian minarets and the rest ones of the Islamic world. 5- The Syrian minarets were with one terrace except two that of the Atroush mosque in Aleppo. And Kayitbe minarets in Damascuses. In my study, I depended on the references which are related to my subject especially in the general Islamic architecture, and which were available in the Turkish and Syrian libraries. I also depended on the benefit from the experiences of the Entailment Ministry of Syria, the art office and the general principality of the monuments and museums in Syria. This is in addition to the scientific and art experiences of the Arabic Scientific Institution of Traditions, and the department of architecture of Aleppo University. And all the grades were for my director in Damascus and the Prof. Dr. Ali Osman Uysal who gave me all help, directions and care hoping for me to successed indiscussing this thesis which I in my turn, hope to be successful in leading to the meant goal.
