Özet

Worker immigration to other countries which started in the 1960's caused serious problems for both the countrey which received immigrants and the one which sent them. One of these problems is the workers' children's education Several efforts have been made to ensure the Turkish children's education in Austria so far. And today, as a consequence of experiencing multicultural life, bi-lingual education is becoming widespread. The Turkish workers in Austria have migrated mostly from rural areas and they are uneducated and they do manual work for low wages. The fact that tehese families are in the lower class both socio- culturally and economically affects their children's education negatively. During the research, the students we have observed are the students who were born in Austria as the second generation. These children grow up as bilinguals as a result of the society they have to live in. Then second language and its phonemes, morphemes and semantic structure affect the students' first language usage both in oral language and in written work. And when the students haveTo the data we have obtained, the students do not prefer written communication with the relatives they have in Turkey, on the contrary, they prefer oral communication. In this paper, we have found out that; as a result of the lack of standard Turkish education, some regional dialectic effects can also be easily seen in students' written work.
