Özet
Bu araştırmada, ortaokul öğrencilerinin STEM'e yönelik tutumlarının çeşitli değişkenler açısından incelenmiştir. Araştırmada karma yöntem kullanılmıştır. Araştırma Marmara Bölgesi'nde bir ilde bulunan Milli Eğitim Bakanlığına bağlı iki devlet okulunun 5.,6.,7. ve 8. Sınıfında eğitim-öğretim görmekte olan toplamda 504 öğrenci ile yürütülmüştür. Nicel verilerin analizi, SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) programı ile yapılmıştır. Bağımsız değişkenin iki düzeyli olduğu ve bağımsız değişkenin düzeylerinde ölçek puanlarının normal dağılım gösterdiği durumlarda ilişkisiz örneklemler t (Independent Samples t- Test) testi kullanılmıştır. Bağımsız değişkenin ikiden fazla düzeye sahip olduğu ve bağımsız değişkenin düzeylerinde ölçek puanlarının normal dağılım gösterdiği durumlarda varyans analizi (ANOVA) testi kullanılmıştır. Nitel kısımda yarı yapılandırılmış görüşmeler yapılmıştır. Görüşmeler 5 öğretmen ve 4 okul yöneticileri görüşmeler yapılmıştır. Görüşme yapılan öğretmenlerden 3' ü Fen bilimleri, 2' si ise bilişim teknolojileri öğretmenidir. Okul yöneticilerinin ise 3' ü Fen bilimleri, 1' i Türkçe öğretmenidir. Araştırmanın sonuçları incelendiğinde Ortaokul öğrencilerinin STEM eğitimine, STEM' in alt boyutlarına karşı yüksek düzeyde ilişkinin olduğu görülmüştür. Öğretmenlerle yapılan görüşmelerde STEM eğitimine yönelik ders içi ve ders dışı etkinliklere yer verdiği, ilgilerinin, isteklerinin yüksek olduğu görülmüştür. Fakat STEM eğitimine karşı yeterli bilgiye sahip olmadığı tespit edilmiştir. Okul yöneticileri ile yapılan görüşmelerde ise STEM eğitimine yönelik görüşlerinin olumlu ve destekleyici olduğu görülmüş olup STEM eğitimine yönelik proje ve etkinlikleri destekleyici çalışmalara katkı sağladıkları tespit edilmiştir. Öğrencilere STEM kavramını anlatacak, kavratacak ve uygulamalı olarak öğretecek dersler verilebilir. Araştırmada görüşme yapılan öğretmenlerin STEM eğitimine yönelik yeterli derecede eğitim almadıkları gözlemlenmiş olup STEM eğitimine yönelik eğitimler almaları önerilebilir.

The purpose of this research; Secondary School Students' Attitudes towards Stem were investigated in terms of Various Variables. Convergent parallel mixed method was used in the study. In the quantitative part of the study, it was conducted with a total of 504 students studying in 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grades of two state schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education in a province in the Marmara Region. In the qualitative dimension of the study, interviews were conducted with teachers and school administrators. Analysis of quantitive data was conducted with SPSS programme.When the independent variable has two levels and scale scores show normal dispersion in independent variable levels unrelated sample T test was used.When the independent variable has more than two levels and scale scores show normal dispersion in independent variable levels ANOVA test was used.In qualitative part, semi-structured interview was conducted. Five are teachers and four are school administrators. Three of the teachers interviewed are science teachers and two are information technologies teachers. Three of the school administrators are science teachers and one is Turkish. Qualitative analysis was obtained with a total of nine teachers. When the results of the study were examined, it was determined that the secondary school students had a high level of institutional relationship against STEM, their meetings with teachers and school administrators were positive, their interest in STEM education was high, and activities for this education were realized. In addition, opinions of the school administrators to support STEM projects and activities were obtained. Courses that will explain, comprehend and teach the concept of STEM can be given to students. It was observed that the teachers interviewed in the study did not receive sufficient training for STEM education, and it may be suggested that they receive training for STEM education.
